Mycotoxins are one of the most dangerous contaminant present in feed.

A recent survey carried out by PATENT CO demonstrated that 99% of the corn samples are contaminated by at least one type of mycotoxin in the Americas.

Chronic intoxication with Aflatoxins can manifest with decreased weight gain, reduced feed conversion and, sometimes, diarrhea.

Fumonisins, in the most severe cases of intoxication, can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, decreased food intake, and decreased body weight gain.

Toxin T-2 can cause a reduction or refusal of food intake, as well as digestive disorders such as ulceration and visceral bleeding.

So, the use of strong and robust Mycotoxin Adsorbent is essential to reach the highest potential of the broilers.

RESULTS

Houses 1 to 5: The use of MINAZEL PLUS in the diet favored a better weight gain at 21 days (3.85% compared to standard weight) and at 42 days (8.51% as compared to standard weight). Also, it resulted in lowest mortality at 21 and 42 days.

Houses 6 to 10: The house 8 that was fed with MINAZEL PLUS had the highest weight gain at 21 days (-5.35% of standard weight) and at 42 days also got the highest weight gain (-3.64% of standard weight).

The lowest mortality at 21 days was recorded from house 9 (1.39%) which received MINAZEL PLUS in feed.

Necropsies were performed in houses 1 to 5 when the birds were 17 days old and in houses 6 to 10 when birds were 20 days old. No significant lesions were observed in any of the groups.

CONCLUSION

MINAZEL PLUS fed groups demonstrated better weight gain and reduced mortality as compared to competitor adsorbent through necropsy showed that the health status of broilers both groups remained very similar, with no apparent change due to the use of either product.
