DEBORAH G. BLACK MEMORIAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FUND
Deborah G. Black served as BCA’s President and member of the Board of Directors for nine years. Her passion for her work was apparent as she helped transition the organization with new leadership, helped to formulate a strategic plan, and worked tirelessly to ensure BCA’s footing for the future. Deborah was also the co-chair of the Research Grants Committee, overseeing selection of the research BCA funded and visiting many of the sites personally for evaluation.
At Debbie’s passing she left a large bequest to Breast Cancer Alliance to further its research granting ability. To date, over half a million dollars in scientific research grants have been given in her name, due to that generosity, and her legacy lives on.
