INTRO d u c t i o n Hardwicke Circus is just over Eden Bridge, its one of the busiest roundabouts in Carlisle, yet inside the roundabout is a small park area, with a fountain, plant life & a tall statue, the only way inside this area is the three tunnels from the City Centre, Bitts Park & the Sands Centre. The tunnels were first decorated in 1970 but two of the tunnels were revisited in 2013 & repainted by Rosemary Cunningham & Paul Leith as part of the ‘Lets Colour’ Project
Adobe Colour CC is a programme that allows you to make your own swatches using either a colour wheel or a photograph, through the rest of the magazine I have used photos from both inside and outside the Hardwicke Circus Roundabout to make colour swatches which I then translated into Square Illustrations.
My right eye has a very weak lens, I have very little control over it, most things a meter or so away are a blur of colours, it sometimes makes it hard to know exactly what I’m looking at. I do have prescription glasses so I can see things far away, but I’m stubborn and dislike wearing them. Thats why I wanted to base this on just the swatches from Hardwicke, because when I went there without my glasses, the blurry colours was all I could make out.
