1. Open the lock gate and take the boat into the lock. Remember to close the gate behind the boat.
2. Open the sluice gate to allow the water to flow from the lock into the side pound.
3. Close the suice gate and take the boat into the lock.
4. Open the sluice gate to allow the water to flow from the side pound into the lock.
5. The boat will rise with the water level inside the lock to the same as the water level ahead.
6. Close the sluice gate and take the boat through the lock.
7. Close the lock gate. Repeat process until all 29 locks have been completed.
