How to build a suspension bridge.
A concrete foundation called a cassion is put in place.
water goes out, so concrete can go in.
the steel structures that form the main part of the bridge are lowered into the foundations.
Anchor points are built on land either side of the bridge to hold the main cable.
Once the anchor points, foundations and steel structures are built the main cables are hung between them. these will support the suspension cables that hold the bridge decking.

Suspender or suporting cables are the smaller cables that are hung from the main cable. They hold the deck.
The Deck is hugng from the suspender cables The deck is made using small square individual pieces of road which are dragged out into place by barge’s before being hung
After the decking has been hung, the bridge is ready to be painted and then tested before the public are allowed to use it. In the past elephants were used to test the strength of the bridge.
