T
his holiday season you can catch up on all the local tweeters thanks to a new publication prepared by Dick Jenkin, Dave Stuart and Alan Stuart for the Hunter Bird Observers Club. The publication is presented as a birding route covering the Barrington southern slopes and has been supported by Dungog Shire Visitor Information Centre. In it you will find a range of locations that provide a mixture of habitat and a list of the birds that may be seen there. Look for our local Upper Allyn River entry. Copies of the Birding Route and Great Country Drives brochures, as well as other information of interest to both locals and visitors, are available at the Dungog Shire Visitor Information Centre (VIC), cnr Dowling and Brown Sts in Dungog ph 4992 2212 and local outlets Gresford General Store & Cafe, Vacy General Store and Paterson Country CafĂŠ. Copies are also available from local businesses who are supporters of the VIC including Bunna Bunoo Olive Grove, Camyr Allyn Wines, Gresford Foodworks, Gresford Gourmet Meats, and Stewart Everett Mitsubishi.
