FE Civil Exam Review Course offered by Civil Engineering Technology at RIT Spring Course Offering
RIT’s Civil Engineering Technology program, within the College of Engineering Technology is now offering a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Civil Exam Review Course for the civil engineering professionals. Passing the FE exam is the first step in the process leading to the Professional Engineers (PE) license. All fourteen (14) different exam topics will be covered. Class Delivery Method: Flex Mode
The course will be delivered in-person and online synchronous (zoom) simultaneously. Enrolled students can attend class online at the specified days/times and engage in course activities together with in-person attendees.
Starts on January 12th with last day of class is on 23rd of April 2021. Hands-on Problem solving in every class with some theory but mostly based on FE Reference Handbook from NCEES. Over 100 hours of intensive teaching and practicing to ensure that the attendees fully grasp all the topics. A very fast-paced course with 15 weeks of evening classes. Extra materials similar to class problems will be provided for individual practice to build confidence. Fee for the review is set to be $1250. Group discount: For a group of 5 or more will receive a discount of $200 per person. Guarantee of passing: Students will sit for four full scale 6 hours mock tests during weekends at the end of 15 weeks of classes (24th and 25th of April 2021, 1st and 2nd of May 2021, from 10 am to 4 pm). If the student receives 85% or more in mock tests but does not pass the FE, will be allowed to attend the next course absolutely free. Class meeting time: Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Registration deadlines are 10 days before the start of the course. Barton & Loguidice News Senior Project Manager Joines the Rochester Office
Barton & Loguidice (B&L) announces Luann Meyer, has joined the Solid Waste Practice Area as Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Rochester, NY office.
A current resident of the town of Pittsford, NY, Meyer received her B.S. in environmental management with a minor in political science from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She has over 19 years of experience managing environmental projects.

Meyer makes her return to Barton & Loguidice after 3 years of service with Monroe County DES where she managed several solid waste projects; including management of intermunicipal agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, a Recycle Right! education and outreach campaign, and local solid waste management planning goals and objectives
Meyer is the current President of the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) New York Chapter and has previously served as Director for SWANA’s International Chapter. Other board memberships include NY Solid Waste Federation Conference, NY Product Stewardship Council, Women of Wastewater Committee, New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA). Meyer was also the recipient of the 2019 Postprandial Toastmasters Communication Achievement Award. q
Bergmann News Bergmann Hires CPA as New Controller
Andrew Nisbet, CPA, has joined national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann as controller. Based in the Rochester, New York, headquarters, Nisbet oversees the firm’s financial team with responsibilities to provide financial reporting and insights to the firm's executive leadership team. Among Nisbet’s first initiatives as controller is to streamline and automate the firm’s financial functions with the implementation of technology solutions that will improve the experience of Bergmann team members and clients alike.

Prior to joining Bergmann, Nisbet served as director at JC Jones & Associates. In this role he was responsible for fostering positive client relationships, helping drive engagement success by reducing timeline and budget. Nisbet also conducted in-depth process reviews, identifying deficiencies and inefficiencies and developing and implementing time phased action plans, and executed construction project audits to ensure contract integrity through billing and work performed.
“Though Andrew’s role is more internal in nature, his work directly impacts our clients. His previous experience has given him a strong understanding of client relationship management which will lend well to his new role,” continued Lockwood.
Nisbet serves on the board of directors for the Institute of Management Accountants Rochester Chapter. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Alfred University. q
