Men Who Cook

Men Who Cook was held on April 2 at the Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Community Resource Center. This year marked their tenth anniversary and “come hungry – leave ful lled” was the event’s theme. The venue was wall to wall with amateur cooks as well as professional chefs preparing to whip up their culinary delicacies in hopes of snagging rst place, all while raising money for PACE Center for Girls of Escambia-Santa Rosa Counties. Adorned in their white aprons, the cooks mingled until it was showtime. Guests came in droves to enjoy this fun event as well as to show their support for such an amazing cause.

Whether you were in the mood for fresh sangria or whiskey there was something available for everyone. This exciting menu was sure to please all of the guests’ palates with dishes ranging from “the big moose wonder” to Mediterranean chicken, and even my personal childhood favorite, goulash. Desserts were on the table as well with bananas foster, crème brulé, red velvet cupcakes, and key lime pie just to name a few. Attendees were also treated to gift boxes lled with a variety of interesting items donated by local businesses as well as gift certi cates and a silent auction.
