GREENSBORO FACTS • Greensboro was named after Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene.

• “Gate City” and “Jeansboro” are our nicknames due to the many railroads that intersected in the city, and WranglerTM was bult here in the 1940s.

• Greensboro was founded in 1808. Guilford County was founded in 1771.
