A total of 67 triumphing student-leaders, seven for the major positions and 60 for the representatives, from both rivaling parties, INICIO and SIKLAB, were chosen by the own student body of City High during the election period held inside classroom premises with more than 2,500 student voters, July 8-9.

In an interview, Alyzza expressed her gratitude to her fellow Nationalians for the trust they have given her in leading the next generation of students.

“Being president of the SSLG and having the honor of representing a diverse student body means a tremendous deal of responsibility. My fellow students can count on me to be an eager and inspired leader. Serving as their voice, accepting recommendations, and concerns,” Dela Cruz further highlighted her commitment to promoting openness and inclusivity within the school community, emphasizing the importance of valuing and listening to every student’s voice while striving to enhance school spirit.

Jheremy Atienza, the current President, also expressed high expectations for the newly elected officers, pointing out that these students are individuals with undeniable potential, and as he has cultivated these officers as peers he has also overseen, this will help the student body to grow and improve.

“I often remind them (the incoming officers) that they possess even greater potential than us to be exceptional leaders. With the newly elected President, Alyzza Dela Cruz, to lead them, I am eager to witness a forthcoming school year brimming with innovative activities and an unwavering dedication to fostering enjoyment and growth for every student,” Atienza stated.

In light of Atienza’s term coming to an end, many look forward to Dela Cruz’s incoming term. With student leadership at the core of the passion and dedication of the incoming SSLG officers, the elected members are bound to achieve great success during their tenure.
