What is DPCC? STEPS TO CURB POLLUTION IN DELHI 1. Pollution checking by the transport department: The enforcement teams are being deployed on road locations for the prosecution of polluting vehicles that do not have 'Pollution under Control Certificates'. 2. Public awareness: Public awareness programs are conducted to make motorists aware of the health issues of pollution and educate them about the health hazards, statutory provisions and control measures, i.e. engine turning and maintenance. 3. Phasing out old commercial vehicles: To minimize pollution caused by cars, the Honourable Supreme Court has banned plying vehicles over 15 years old. The transport department is ensuring the effective compliance of these directions via its enforcement terms. 4. Carpooling: Reduce traffic-based air pollution and congestion by starting carpool lanes for cars and four-wheelers with more than three of four passengers to encourage people to carpool. Also, citizens should take the initiative and carpool with friends, family and colleagues wherever possible.
5.
