The Greeneville Sun celebrated it’s 10th year of recognizing top high school student athletes across twenty-two sports categories in Greeneville, and throughout Greene County. The annual celebration was held on Sunday, May 3rd, during the 2026 All Star Preps Awards ceremony held at First Baptist Church on Main Street in Greeneville.
Sponsored by Bachman-Bernard Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, the annual event honored outstanding student athletes from Chuckey-Doak High School, Greeneville High School, North Greene High School, South Greene High School, and West Greene High School. Friends, family members, coaches, teammates, and community supporters gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of students who have excelled through athletic achievement, academic success, dedication, perseverance, and service to their communities.
Coaches from each of the area’s High Schools nominate students that excel athletically, as well as academically. Three independent and anonymous judges review and score each nomination. The judging is based on a point scale that includes academic performance, awards and achievements, school & community involvement, and of course athletic ability. The Greeneville Sun and our sponsors are not involved in the selection of winners in any of the categories.
The afternoon served as a celebration not only of competitive success, but also of the leadership, discipline, and character these student-athletes demonstrate both in their schools and throughout the community. Applause filled the room as each nominee was recognized for the hard work and
commitment required to succeed in athletics while maintaining excellence in other areas of life.

Each nominee was recognized as an All Star student athlete and received an All Star Preps medal along with a certificate honoring their accomplishments. Category winners received an award certificate, while the top honors — Male All-Star Student Athlete of the Year, Noah Case and Female All-Star Student Athlete of the Year, Addison “Addy” Bradley — each received a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by The Greeneville Sun.
The event keynote speaker was Mr. Mike Hollowell, who brought decades of experience in education, athletics, and community leadership. A graduate of Purdue University and Tusculum University, Hollowell began his coaching career at Milligan University before serving for more than a decade as head men’s basketball coach and athletic director at Tusculum. Since 2001, he has served as Executive Director of the Greene County YMCA, and has also dedicated his time to local service through the Greeneville City Schools Board, the Greeneville/ Greene County Sports Council, and the Family Resource Center Board.
The awards program was presented by Leslie Magalios, Multimedia Advertising Director, Scott R. Swift, Special Projects Coordinator, and Hala Watson, Multimedia Account Executive, from The

Greeneville Sun assisted with the presentation by distributing medals, certificates, and awards to the nominees and winners throughout the ceremony.
The annual All Star Preps Awards continue to recognize student athletes whose dedication, resilience, and excellence extend far beyond the scoreboard. By honoring achievement in academics, athletics, and community involvement, the event highlights the positive impact these young leaders are making throughout Greene County.
