From the Bench

A note from the Publishers

And just like that, it's April! Earth day is on the 22nd, and in case you weren't aware — the city has a couple of conservation programs that you might want to take advantage of: Rainwater Guardian Workshops and Sprinkler System Checkups. Both are free. After completing the Guardian Workshop, participants will be eligible for a free rain barrel from the city. For virtual class times, visit stpete.org/residents/ sustainability/water_conservation/resources.php. To apply for a sprinkler system checkup, email SensibleSprinkling@stpete.org.

The history of the green benches is layered. For some, it is a reminder of a painful period of racism and segregation. To others, it is a symbol of welcomeness and hospitality. We carry this name to shine a light on our city’s history and in celebration of those who work tirelessly towards a more inclusive St. Pete.
