We are overjoyed to welcome you to the 2024 Great Waters Music Festival concert season. This year, we are thrilled to present a spectacular program of performers for our Concerts in the Clouds and Concerts in Town. The anticipation is palpable as we prepare to bring you a season filled with unforgettable musical experiences.
Our concert homes, both at the Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough and at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, are centuries-old icons where we are privileged to fulfill our mission of showcasing the best musical talent in the Lakes Region. We look forward to introducing our 2024 Dave & Barbara Lobdell Scholarship recipients on stage. These young people will continue to pursue excellence in music performance and education in the years ahead. We also welcome five Great Waters summer interns who will benefit from genuinely hands-on concert preparation and production during our summer season.
Great Waters’ success is a testament to the unwavering support of our army of volunteers, the dedication of our talented staff and crew, and the generosity of our benefactors. But it is your presence and support that truly breathe life into these events. Our partnership with Chuck Clark, the esteemed Executive Director of Castle in the Clouds, and Kristy Kerin, the visionary Head of School at Brewster Academy, has allowed us to plan for and execute the caliber of musical performances for which we are known. We are deeply grateful to all of them, and to you, our cherished patrons, for being the heart and soul of the Great Waters Music Festival.
No matter which venue you visit this summer, we hope you attend all of our concerts, “In the Clouds” and “In Town.” Sit back, sing along, and join in the fun! Music truly is the language of the soul.
Warmest regards,
Joan Myers Executive Director at Great
Waters
Great Waters’ journey from its inception at Brewster Academy in 1995 to its current residence under the Great Waters tent at Castle in the Clouds for the past four years has been nothing short of extraordinary. This is because of the dedication of our board of directors, the incredible team in the office led so efficiently by our Executive Director, Joan Myers, and, most importantly, the support and loyalty from our community.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors. Thanks to Eastern Propane & Oil's support, we were able to add the new Diamond Level to our sponsorship list. We also want to thank our Platinum-level sponsors, Belknap Landscape and Fidelity Investments, for their continued commitments to Great Waters. We appreciate all our Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Supporter sponsors, individual donors and ticket buyers, and our season ticket holders. Thank you to the many businesses that have placed ads in our program and generously donated items for our Gala. We couldn't do this without you. And don't forget to mark your calendars for this year's GALA on August 21st, featuring Abby Mueller, who starred in Broadway’s blockbuster musicals Beautiful , The Carole King Story, Kinky Boots, and SIX .
This year, we proudly introduced two new initiatives that we believe will greatly enhance your festival experience. The debut of The Cloud Club, a unique space for our most dedicated supporters to connect and enjoy the festival, has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm. We also launched the innovative Ride & Dine Music Series concept in partnership with the Wolfeboro Trolley and the Birch and Vine Restaurant, offering a delightful culinary journey alongside our musical performances. These initiatives not only demonstrate our dedication to innovation and creativity but also our commitment to providing you with the best possible festival experience.
Thank you for your continued support, which not only sustains us but also allows us to thrive…..for the love of music.
With gratitude,
Barbara Olcott Board of Directors, Chair
Great Waters is excited to debut a 2024 summer collaboration with the Wolfeboro Trolley Company and the Birch & Vine Restaurant . Just imagine the delight of having transportation provided to you by the iconic Jolly the Trolley in Wolfeboro, a delicious three-course dinner at the popular Birch & Vine restaurant in Tuftonboro, and attendance at any of the six Concerts in the Clouds at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough. This long-awaited opportunity is made possible by the generosity of these three local businesses, who have each sharpened their pencils and saved their calendar dates to provide transportation to and from Wolfeboro, including pickup and drop off at both Kingswood Arts Center and Taylor Community Back Bay, a complete dinner, and “under the tent” seats at all Great Waters concerts at the Castle. Of course, after the concert, the Trolley promises to return to both locations in Wolfeboro at the end of the evening!
Tickets to the Great Waters Dinner Series are limited to thirty-four people for each concert. The menu at Birch & Vine will vary for each concert date, and Great Waters will provide comfy cushions for an even more satisfying trip to and from on the Wolfeboro Trolley. The Trolley will leave Wolfeboro at 5:00 p.m. The dinner at Birch & Vine will be a varied buffet each week with options for vegetarians. Cocktails are an added charge at both Birch & Vine and the concert. The Trolley will return to their locations in Wolfeboro immediately following the concert. The price is $120 per person, including all tips and gratuities. If you already have tickets to a concert, you can pay $80 per person and join for just the ride and the dine portion!

Great Waters Music Festival is pleased to announce the continuation of its partnership with Brewster Academy and the Castle in the Clouds, which brings outstanding summer concerts to the Lakes Region this summer. During July and August, Great Waters will present well-known performers under its large acoustical tent in the meadow near Shannon Pond at the Castle and Brewster’s indoor and more intimate settings in Wolfeboro.
Chuck Clark, Executive Director of Castle in the Clouds, emphasizes the significance of nonprofit collaboration for community welfare. He expresses his excitement about the Castle's role in providing the setting, while Great Waters contributes the music. This partnership allows both organizations to leverage their unique assets and skills, ultimately benefiting the entire community. Great Waters values the opportunity to host its concerts in a stunning space that enhances the quality and beauty of the musical performances. The Castle’s central location in Moultonborough offers a convenient and breathtaking venue for both full-time and summer residents of the Lakes Region.
Kristy Kerin, Brewster Academy Head of School, expresses her delight in continuing the longstanding relationship with Great Waters. She highlights the significance of the Great Waters Concert Series in bringing a diverse range of musicians to the community. The series not only enriches the cultural landscape but also fosters a sense of community and connection. This summer, Great Waters will feature three exceptional performances, two at the Pinckney Boathouse and one at the newly reimagined Rogers Building, now known as the Grayson Student Center, in honor of the Grayson Family's instrumental role in the renovation.
Joan Myers, the Executive Director of Great Waters, says: “Bringing our communities together in beautiful settings to hear magnificent performers is a privilege. We’re always thrilled to witness the magic at these concerts and know we’ve played a role in creating lasting memories.”

Since its inception, the Great Waters Scholarship Program has contributed financial assistance to music and performing arts students in the Lakes Region, helping them on their journey to connect their gifts with the needs of the music world. Great Waters is a non-profit organization bringing music to the Lakes Region since 1995. At Great Waters, we celebrate the performing arts with programs that satisfy every palate. From Broadway to comedy, to Rock and Roll and folk – Great Waters offers something for everyone to enjoy under the New Hampshire summer sky at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough and at intimate indoor venues at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro.
Great Waters warmly welcomes high school, college, and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in any facet of the performing arts and music to apply for our merit-based financial assistance. We believe that talent knows no boundaries, and hence, our doors are open to all. Applications are accepted starting from January, and scholarship recipients are announced in May, and honored at one of the Great Waters concerts. Scholarship applicants are also encouraged to apply for the Great Waters’ paid summer internship program. This program provides opportunities for real-world experience in stage production, audio, lighting, and music.
Funding for the Great Waters scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of individual donors and foundations, including the Nancy P. Marriott Foundation. Every ticket sale provides $1 toward our scholarship fund. In 2024, Great Waters presented seven scholarships to Lakes Region students.
The Great Waters 2024 Student Internship Program is offering students ten weeks of full-time paid work opportunities linked to their academic goals and careers. This program is open to graduating seniors, college students, graduate students, and our Dave and Barbara Lobdell Scholarship recipients. Experiential work opportunities include positions in—
• Assisting with talent management
• Soundboard, musical sound, and light production
• Stage and venue set up and breakdown
• Large-crowd event management
• Patron and guest relations
• Office technology and support
We are not just hiring interns; we are welcoming new members to our Great Waters community. We are thrilled to announce that we have hired five summer interns for our 2024 concert season. They will be a part of our wonderful community all summer long, and we encourage you to give them a warm welcome!
The Great Waters Summer Internship Program is generally underwritten in part by The Penates Foundation.
Your presence here reinforces our belief in the importance of live performances. It supports our commitment to continue bringing you extraordinary music and impactful performances in our venues with engaged audiences.
