“The
Seasons of the Moon”
As most know, I have a “love - hate” relationship with the moon. When I am searching for the Milky Way and other night visitors the moon can sometimes “washout” the stars. The power of the moon in undeniable.
The moon is one of the most interesting and mysterious forces in our lives, and its effects on us are often a popular topic of conversation. For instance, the moon has power over how our planet functions by controlling the tides. It also makes Earth a more livable planet by moderating Earth’s wobble on its axis, which helps stabilize our climate.
The gravitational pull of the moon not only controls tides, but we now understand that it also affects the length of our days. By slowing the Earth’s spin, the moon has actually lengthened days to the 24 hours we now know, due to the gravitational pull on our oceans.
In addition to these scientific truths, there are also common beliefs about the power and influence of the moon that extend beyond our current understanding. How the moon affects us individually might vary, as some people claim the moon’s presence centers and grounds them, while others say it improves their mood, and more.
While modern medicine has discredited many theories about the moon and its influence on our lives, there are still many experts who believe the power of the moon should not be entirely dismissed. Ultimately, our personal beliefs are our own, and this guide is here to take you through some of the most common and interesting beliefs about the moon, and its effects on us.
However, and it’s a big however, given the opportunity when the moon is used in the foreground or particularly in the background it can present amazing photographic opportunities. When they occur, they can become powerful images that are not forgotten. Over the years I have gathered a volume of those images. I can tell you the story for every one of them. They are unforgettable. Hence, the publishing of “The Seasons of the Moon”. I hope you enjoy.
