A Message from our Bishop
Bishop Kevin V. Gresham Sr.
The Full Armor oF God
The Full Armor of God has been our subject of study I want to draw attention to one particular piece of armor which is the Shield of Faith
As the only piece of armor you have complete control over, the Shield of Faith is incredibly effective. You are in charge of your faith, so you decide how big of a shield it is . In times of spiritual strife, the Shield of Faith serves as a barrier of protection for us It shields believers from life’s uncertainties and concerns in the same manner that a physical shield shields warriors in combat
We have to realize that the Bible describes the “fiery darts” that are flung at us. The shield is meant to put them out of their misery . As a result, I implore you to maintain your faith in front of you . Our spiritual path is not only protected by faith, but it also gives us the confidence to proceed forward.

Spring iS A greAt time to renew Your Spirit
Sister Sylvia B. Tyson
The snow has melted and temperatures have risen Bright colors are replacing browns and grays There’s only one explanation - It must be spring!
For believers, spring is a reminder that God is all about making things new. In fact, Jesus promised to make everything new one day “Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said [a]to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:5 NKJV) . In the meantime, He gives us glimpses of the coming attractions through spring .
To help you celebrate the shift from one season to another, here are some verses that reflect the best themes of spring.
Growth
He shall be like a tree Planted by the [a]rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3 NKJV) Spring is a time for growth . In nature, that comes from the right combination of sunlight and water . For our spiritual lives, it comes from the right combination of time with God in His Word and time with other Christians in fellowship. The alternative is to be chaff that blows away and comes to nothing.
Starting Over
“Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NKJV) Everybody needs forgiveness We need God to appear and let us know we’re back on track with Him . He’s ready to give us that kind of healing . We just have to turn back to Him .
Provision
“then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.” (Deuteronomy 11:14 NKJV) The Christian life is a balancing act between working like everything depends on you and trusting like everything depends on God He will send the rains you need, but you’ve also got to do your part by working the harvest .
Learning
“Let my [a]teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.” (Deuteronomy 32:2 NKJV) You’re never too old to learn a little more about God and His Goodness . Just like rain provides nourishment to the plants, His Word reaches into our hearts and shows us things we never would have imagined Renewal
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10 NKJV) God is in the renovation business He takes what’s old and broken down and transforms it into something incredible If you’ve got an area of your life that needs some renewal, He’s more than ready to meet you where you are .
Peace
“For this is My blood of the [d]new covenant, which is shed for many for the [e]remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” (Matthew 6:2829 NKJV) Take a look at the flowers and plants blooming around you. They didn’t worry their way to awesomeness - you can’t either . God cares about you, so let Him carry your worries and fears . “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV) Whether it’s a long walk on a sunny day or splashing through puddles during an unexpected shower, soak up the blessings of spring . Let the sights, sounds and smells of a new season bring to life something new within you .

At The Cross
Submitted By Minister Samaria Jackson
Jesus took more than I wanted give
Leaving me naked with nothingness. Nothing to protect from the piercing pain of process. He took my babble, my boast, my bond.
With what shall I defend, deflect, defer Naked in Nothingness. In the world of wickedness. He took all of my sins, so what remains? It is finished? But am I finished with it
It’s what I know. It’s who I am. On it I can rely. Naked in nothingness? I can wear it. Hide in it.
It terrifies me and soothes me. It feels too good but hurts so bad. It’s my it. I love it. I hate it. Give me back my it. You took more than I wanted to give. And left me Naked in Nothingness.
I need it. I don’t want it. It compels me. It repels me. It chooses me. I chase it. I run from it. I use it. It’s more than I wanted to give. Naked without it. Nothingness remains.
Be still. Be still. Be still in your nakedness. I took more than you wanted to give.
Your Pride
Your Pretense
Your Path
Your Perceptions
At the Cross, I took more than you wanted to give. And Now Release it. Release it my beloved
Naked but not ashamed.
Release it. Take my yoke upon you and Release your it. Covered in love, peace, and joy.
Release your it.

Don’t talk about It, be about It!
By Brother Tony P.D. Williams
James 2:17-26 - 17Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without [a]your works, and I will show you my faith by [b]my works. 19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is [c]dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made [d]perfect? 23And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was [e]accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
In our scripture Abraham (James 2:21-24) and Rahab (James 2:25-26) put their faith into action and not just words Abraham had so much faith that he offered his son as a sacrifice by putting him on an altar. Abraham didn’t talk, he did. However, God provided a ram in the bush Rahab could have very easily just talked the talk, but she also took action by hiding the spies and helping them escape . Due to Rahab’s actions, God spared Rahab and her family from destruction during the war “Don’t Talk About It, Be About It!”
I have two cousins who are the epitome of faith because they take action and don’t just talk . Nathan owns a catering business and Darren owns a trucking business. Even through COVID and various difficult economic times, they still continued to operate their businesses Nathan decided about two years ago to assist one of his friends with his business, which meant he was working in his catering business part-time . However, about six months ago, he put his faith into action and planned to return to his catering business full-time in March 2024 During a conversation, I told Nathan that his faith was put into action because he trusted God . Darren had a few challenges in the trucking business due to truck repair and gasoline costs, so he went to work with a trucking company to provide for his family Darren is also planning a return to working in his business full-time soon . I truly admire both of my cousins’ entrepreneurial spirit and their unwavering faith . I pray that I’m exhibiting my faith by taking action and not just talking
Faith is a verb and you have to take action to display real faith . Words alone are not faith . You have to do something to prove that you believe, have faith and trust God for the things you’re praying for . No matter where you were born or reside, you have to pretend you’re from Missouri “the show me State” because people want to see you do something besides talk a good game .
In other words, all talk and no action means nothing If you analyzed your faith, would the analysis reveal more talking or more action? “Don’t Talk About It, Be About It!!!”

Marriage Check-Up
By Lady Denise Gresham
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
I can hear you saying, we don’t need a marriage check-up We’ve been married for 10, 20, 30 or more years We are doing just fine. Yes, you are probably doing fine, but are you really, really doing fine? Are you going through the motions and don’t realize that something has changed?
A marriage check-up is a great way to maintain a healthy marriage . When we were dating, we were so much in love, we didn’t see each other’s faults We acted like we couldn’t be apart for a second Then the big day comes - the wedding You’re more in love if that makes sense . You made sure that everything was perfect down to the honeymoon . You’ve been married for maybe a year or so and things start to change You ask yourself what happened? Let’s look at another scenario You’ve been married for 20 years or more I know my spouse and he knows me We’ve gotten comfortable and maybe we’ve started taking each other for granted . You feel like you are drifting apart, emotionally, physically and sexually
Connecting with your spouse emotionally, physically and sexually are important because it helps both of you to grow together as a married couple There could be some things that we might need to spruce up with our spouse If you and your spouse do what you do every day, leave each other alone, and never really spend time connecting, your marriage will not grow to its full potential Not connecting with your spouse can lead to growing apart, that’s one of the common reasons why many married couples divorce . Our scripture is sharing that God wants us to be in union . He created us to be together, and those who are a pair have the ability to help each other up . A spouse can help another spouse in areas that they lack
Let’s look at a couple of examples . Let’s talk about what is so popular right now . I’m speaking about social media accounts If you were to compare your time spent on these websites to the time you devote to your spouse, what will the ratio be? Something to think about . I pray that you love your spouse more than those social media websites .
How about this one We check our car’s oil and change it regularly We watch the fuel gauge to ensure we have enough gas . We also take note when the engine starts to whine, which might signal a problem . Just as we monitor and maintain our cars, we need to “watch the gauges” of our marriage if we want to keep it running smoothly.
Here are a few benefits of having a marriage check-up. It brings you closer together as a couple in more ways than one and you discover more about each other . It creates happiness when both spouses feel they are heard and see each other making efforts to create a better life. It holds each other accountable. Who better to do this, then the person who knows you the best?
Whether you are a newlywed or even a long-time married couple, communication with each other is something we all have to continue learning and practicing . Be willing to listen to your spouse so that you can accept their sincere critique. Remember, your spouse has the best intentions for you. Guess what, it will be challenging at first to not take your spouse’s feedback as a direct insult . Instead, we have to view them as a form of constructive critique . Learning how to approach difficult topics and communicating them with your spouse is part of your marriage journey.

When you’re trying to have a conversation with your spouse, do you try to connect with answering phone calls, watching TV or working on your computer or iPad? Please, please put those precious items away . Your spouse needs your undivided attention . When you connect with your spouse every day, you will be able to build the healthy marriage you both desire Learn how to connect with your spouse on a daily basis so that you don’t wake up one day and say, we have grown apart .
Now that you know the benefits of marriage checkups. How do you get started?
I have a great suggestion. How about Valentine’s Day? I know what you’re saying,” I don’t need to go along with that man-made holiday to tell me how I’m supposed to treat my spouse.” That’s so true. Look how popular this manmade day is. It’s one of the biggest flower and box of chocolates day. If you don’t have a reservation for a fine-dining restaurant, you will not be able to just walk in without a long wait Only place you can walk into are places like ChickFil-A, McDonalds, etc . There’s nothing wrong with those places .
You don’t have to go to a restaurant, you can do something special at home . The point that I’m trying to make is that we need to take more time to listen to one another, no matter how long you have been married I have added some marriage check-in questions in the chat that I came across. Sometimes it is difficult to start conversations with our spouse A healthy marriage must be nurtured and cared for every day Great marriages don’t happen. They’re made.

Above Average
By Minister Sharis Staton
Deuteronomy 14:2 - For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Earlier this week I was strolling through YouTube and ran across an episode of the Breakfast Club The special guest for that episode was a young author by the name of Eboni K Williams The initial clip that I watched started about mid-way of the interview, and it was very clear early on that she and 2 of the 4 hosts were not on the same page .
They debated this idea of what it means to be Mediocre, Average or Exceptional and who it applies to . The young author was trying to make the point that by definition there are some jobs that fall into these three categories, but the offense came in when the host attached the job to a person, implying that the young author was categorizing people as mediocre, average or exceptional based on their job . The young author attempted to clarify her perspective by defining what it means to be Mediocre, Average or Exceptional. 1. Mediocre: of only moderate quality; not very good. 2 . Average: Normal, ordinary, nothing special about it, doesn’t stand out, good nor bad . 3 . Exceptional: Unusual, not typical, above average .
As I listened to the message that the young author was trying to convey, I understood that she wasn’t and couldn’t be talking about people, because the Bible tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous works of the Lord. However, as the two continued to debate back and forth, I drifted into my own thoughts and I began to reflect and self-assess
Ephesians 3:20-21 tells us that we serve a God that can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us I don’t know about you, but to me that’s exceptional As I begin to think about who God is, what He does and how He does things; I had to own the fact that while I may be an exceptional creation by God, I don’t always perform at an exceptional level or above average
One of the many things that I love about the Lord is the fact that He doesn’t do mediocre or average; only exceptional or excellent. His characteristics t challenges us to step up to His standard, because He knows firsthand the power that works in us When applied in our lives, it not only challenges us to meet God’s standards, but it also challenges others to do the same . 1 . Genesis 4:5 Cain’s offering - MEDIOCRE 2. Mark 12:44 - the rich giving an offering out of their abundance: AVERAGE 3. Luke 7:38 the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair; kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil: EXCEPTIONAL We know how the story ends, as a result all of her sins were forgiven . An act reminding us that an exceptional sacrifice lends itself to an exceptional reward.

God told us on Sunday, through the Bishop, that ordinary, regular, normal and I’m including average were never for the children of God . Perhaps that’s why we become frustrated with normal because far too often we settle into being normal, average or just fitting in, when we were born again to stand out.
Our focus scripture reminds us that we are a chosen generation and He has chosen us to be a people for Himself, a special treasure .
So today, ask God to reveal to you what your assignment is and when He does so, do just that .
Secondly, whatever you do, do it heartily, as the Lord and not men, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive your reward .
Finally, after you’ve received your assignment and implemented it heartily as unto God, relax and leave the rest to Him . Only then can you enjoy the minutes, moments and memories of a life lived “Above Average.”

By Deacon Eric Glaze
James 5:7 - Therefore, be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
Famine is one of the more tragic effects of the lack of rain. The lack of situational rain in a person’s life is not conducive to growth . A person who hasn’t been through tough situations will have a hard time explaining to someone else how to get out of a tough situation!
The question I ask is - if we turned out ok, why do we raise our children differently than how we were raised? I sometimes wish my children experience famine as it pertains to situational rain or life’s problems I realize that I am their father and that’s impossible; however, life’s situations are what made me who I am! Therefore, my childhood trouble will not be my children’s struggle
So, what do I do? I have children, get married and divorced just like my parents! I tell myself my adult problems will not be my children’s adult problems. So, I explain not in any specific order, how helpful and hurtful relationships can be; how to use credit responsibly; the process and power of home ownership; difference between a landlord and a tenant in the hope that my children will NEVER have a credit application declined like I have experienced . I hope my children don’t have to wait until their thirties to experience home ownership I pray that they won’t have to be in their forties to collect rent each month as a landlord! These are just a few things I have shared . I hope and wait like the farmer in the scripture!
If we are smart enough to listen and ask others, or even vicariously through their shared experiences, we attempt to raise our children “better”! All the while praying they avoid the very potholes that made us who we are. At an age and maturity level of understanding, we should share stories of ALL the potholes that we have enough courage to share with the precious human beings we call our children Hopefully, they won’t have to personally experience our failures Just in case they do go through what we went through, they will be armed and equipped with the knowledge of how to make it through. If they don’t like the way the situation turned out for us, they can do something totally different and, hopefully, obtain their desired outcome!
I know I am not the only one who shared with my children, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome!” I am simply asking (as challenging as it may be) that we share our experiences both the good and the not so good with our growing children so that they can grow in a way that helps them to be GREATER than we were in their lifetime
In the scripture, we see how the farmer waits for the precious fruits of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain In closing, I would venture to say as parents, like the farmer, we should wait on our precious children to fully develop after they receive the early and latter rain .
Earlier this week, I heard a saying “Some people feel the rain others get wet.” Let’s normalize sharing some of our growing pains so that our children will have knowledge of how it feels in the rain If they too happen to experience the same rain, they won’t just be getting wet!
Remember - “A mother’s arms and a father’s guidance are a child’s refuge in life’s storms”.

P er F ec Tion A nd P rocess
By Minister Cathy Murray
Scripture: James 1:2-8
In this periscope, we are encouraged by James, an Apostle, to “Count it all joy” when tribulations and many circumstances arise in our lives . It is these words that should resonate in our hearts .
Some may ask “what if this joy is lost along the way of our journey/”, but it is Jesus who says in John 15:11 (NKJV) “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” So there is no lack of joy in our trials, but James Also says that our testing of our faith is produced by patience, letting us know that patience is a factor of our process . So, many people have tried to take the easy way through trials or the convenient way, but we have to remember that God is able to walk with us and that “The race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but the one who endures to the end.”
Ecclesiastes 9:11 - We have to remember that God is in control of everything in our lives and waiting upon the Lord will renew our strength This causes us to run and not be weary, walk and not faint, guiding us to this joy However, this process contains more; it also contains wisdom. James mentions in verse 5 “if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all…” We all have heard of King Solomon who asked for “wisdom.” I can remember my son and I hanging out and him asking me “Mommy, if you could ask God for one spiritual gift, what would it be?” I responded and said “Wisdom.” He asked “Why?” I told him that wisdom is a gift that allows you to use sound judgment and understanding of situations in life. With wisdom you gain knowledge to understand and what we need to know is that wisdom is who Jesus is .
According to 1 Corinthians 1:30 - “But of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—. “This means that when we accept Christ in our lives and allow Him in, we are already operating in wisdom . Lastly, but most importantly, we must have faith for it is the “substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen.” Whenever we lack this joy, we must remember that faith combines all three to complete the joy in our lives . Once, we have obtained this this joy, there is no doubt because James mentions “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” This means that Christians who talk to God with no faith that He can do what He said He can do causes us to not invite miracles, signs and wonders into our lives
How can we forget the things that God has already done in our lives? God is going to be forever the same yesterday, today and tomorrow . If He brought you this far, He is able to bring you through anything else . If we are going to “count it all joy,” we’ve got to understand that God is never slack concerning His promises to us. God is able to do beyond what we believe so God is never going to fail on His promises. We have heard of two-faced people and definitely don’t want to be one of them with God We want Him to be able to trust with what He has given us God’s plan for us to live life and live it abundantly and that is what we must do . God is everything He says He is .
He told us He is:
Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will provide
Jehovah Shalom - The Lord is peace .
Jehovah Shammah - The Lord is there
Jehovah Rapha - The Lord will heal
Jehovah Rohi - The Lord is my Shepherd .
God is able to guide us through life by giving us everlasting joy .

Am I a Sheep or Am I a Pig?
By Sister Janice Shields
Have you ever gone somewhere and realized once you got there that you don’t fit in; or have you ever associated with an individual or group of people and questioned what I have in common with this person or people?
Recently, my adult son openly shared moments in his younger years when he found himself in certain circumstances or with the wrong crowd . Such situations, at a minimum, could have detoured his life’s journey, or, at maximum, destroyed and negatively impacted his life forever .
In those moments, my son shared his testimony of hearing God’s voice; having his spirit convicted by knowing that he can do better . By standing on God’s word, which was poured into him daily, he felt the push of God to moving him away from the darkness and recognizing it was a trap
My first thought and praise was “Thank you, Jesus for your grace, mercy, and hedge of protection over my child” and I also thought as a mom was child I don’t need to know everything! Continue to share and reflect with your dad and let me know when to come back into the room . I was happy living in bliss and thinking my children never said or did anything wrong! Naïve of me, yes! Unrealistic yes! Standing on Psalm 91, yes!
My son’s reflection and testimony are examples of how many of us are raised to be sheep but find ourselves connecting with the behavior of the pig
Pigs wallow in mud and don’t mind getting dirty . Given the choice, sheep will choose to lie in clean dry areas, and if they lie in mud, in time they realize they don’t belong and they get out .
Because we fall, doesn’t mean we have to stay . When you wake up and realize that you are in a place where you don’t belong or associate with people who don’t share your values and morals, heed the awareness; the alertness, the uneasiness in your thoughts and spirit and make a change/leave
In the spiritual realm, know in your spirit that the Shepard will never lead HIS sheep to destruction or in the direction of darkness

Greater’s Newest Pastor
Pastor Christina Williams
Pastor Christina Williams was born in Fort Belvoir, VA, and currently resides in Upper Marlboro, MD Her mother, Mrs Willie M Richardson, raised her to love and honor God and to serve others . She comes from a spiritual and musical family . She grew up in church and loved spending time with her Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who taught her hymns and how to harmonize . To this day, she still loves hymns and her favorite hymn is “Holy, Holy, Holy.”
She knew she was called into the Ministry many years ago, but it took her some time to answer the call . Her desire to always encourage, support and counsel others, along her with constantly asking God to allow her to be a blessing to others, was the evidence of God’s love inside of her and she knew God wanted her to not only share His Love, but to also share His Word with others. When she finally accepted the call thirteen years ago, God clearly spoke to her saying “Trust Me and follow Me; I will not leave you” and she has been under His direction ever since.
Pastor Christina’s scriptures are Philippians 4:13, - I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me and Jeremiah 32:27 - Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

A Prayer for Illegal Drugs
By Pastor Ruth Whitehead The Senior Connection
Father God, we come now in the name of Jesus to thank You for another day’s journey . We magnify Your name and give You all the glory and praise . Thank You, Jesus, for waking us up this morning and starting us on our way . Thank You for granting this time to pray for those who are going through drug abuse problems Most of all God, we thank You because You are Jehovah Nissi, the Lord God, our Banner .
We come to lift up this prayer and ask that You would recognize the smoke from the incense, the prayers of the saints, and that it will rise before You our God from the hands of the Angels . Smell the aroma of the incense of this prayer and deliver our children and loved one’s from illegal drugs and drug dealers We know that drugs are being made each and every day to help heal those with different sicknesses and illness. However, we’re speaking of those drugs that are available to our children, family members and friends which are intended to cripple their minds in order to enrich the drug dealers .
God, we thank You in advance for Your deliverance power and healing of the land . We know that you will deal with the wicked ones because You said You would deliver us from the evil one
So, we praise You Oh God and give You all the glory, we magnify You and we plead the blood of Jesus because we know the Blood Still Works. We’re just thankful God for just another Day. We offer up this prayer in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ .
In the name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen.
