Victoria Park Lake in the heart of the city is a tranquil, picturesque area popular with visitors and locals for walking, cycling, picnics, fishing, bird watching and outdoor games. Moooving Art Cows are an iconic part of the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley landscape. Fish, boat or canoe Victoria Park Lake or the Goulburn and Broken Rivers. These amazing waterways will let you discover our local flora and fauna and get you closer to nature. The open spaces and towering river red gums allow you to really appreciate the natural beauty of the area, next to Shepparton’s CBD. The Australian Botanical Gardens is a testimony of how an old refuse site can be rejuvenated to become an iconic attraction, laden with native vegetation and a natural lagoon, it is popular amongst bird watchers as well as local exercise enthusiasts. Greater Shepparton is also home to the Lower Goulburn National Park and the Shepparton Regional Park, where you can discover the story of the Yorta Yorta people via the history walk and learn of their move the “Flats”. The Arcadia Native Fish Hatchery Visitor Centre, home of the Giant Murray Cod, is located 20 minutes south of Shepparton, giving fishers and their families a chance to learn about freshwater native fish production in Victoria, while going for a fish themselves.

With over 90 cows in the herd, they pay homage to the strength of our dairy industry. Kaiela Arts is one of only two Aboriginal art centres in Victoria, a vibrant hub for First Nations creativity and culture, located in Shepparton, in the heart of Yorta Yorta country.

Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) is an outstanding regional art museum located on Yorta Yorta Country, overlooking Victoria Park Lake.
