It is hard to believe we are already into the 2 quarter of 2025 and depending on the temperature, Happy Spring or Summer! nd How is your progress with your membership? Are you getting what you want from the Chamber? Are you looking for a place to plug in and get more involved?

Let me introduce you to Gabriel Mbulo. Gabriel heads up our Economic Development Council. The Council collaborates to identify opportunities and address challenges related to economic development looking to implement community initiatives aimed at job creation, workforce development, infrastructure enhancement, and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

Maybe you are a Nonprofit or want to connect with the Nonprofit sector; let me introduce you to Angie Kagey. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy efforts, and community engagement, Angie facilitates this diverse network of

nonprofit organizations in resource sharing, knowledge exchange, and collective action.

Advocating for the welfare and rights of military veterans, including access to healthcare, education, employment, and other essential services are two men I hold in high esteem, Joe Eletto and Mikey Blewett. I would consider it an honor for you to allow me the opportunity to introduce you to Joe and Mikey who each work with veterans' organizations and government agencies to address the needs of former service members so prominent in our community.

The Education Council fosters partnerships and collaboration between businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations to address educational needs and promote workforce development. This Council is chaired by Jeff Campbell. Are you looking to shape and mold the future generation? Ask me to introduce you to Jeff.

By engaging in government affairs activities, the Government Affairs Council seeks help to shape the regulatory and legislative environment in ways that support the Chamber's goals, protects the interests of you, our members, while looking to promote their long-term success. The Government Affairs Council Chair, Joel Brown, has a knack for guiding members in analyzing policy proposals, developing advocacy strategies, and representing the Chamber amongst local policymakers. Joel was raised just down the road from me, and I welcome the opportunity to connect you with him.

As you can see, the Chamber offers numerous opportunities to participate in your chosen area of interest. If you would like more information, each council has its own page on our website. And, as I have mentioned, I am happy to make any introductions or connections you would like, just let me know how I can help get you the most out of your membership!

Networking is about building relationships. InnovateHer is about more than networking. It is a place for professional women to grow, support, motivate, and inspire each other while learning business and leadership skills. InnovateHer meets monthly on the first Tuesday at noon.

For those in their first year of membership, we invite you to attend the Year One Club! In this smaller group setting, you will forge new connections, learn new business development skills from featured speakers, practice networking skills, and have fun! The Year One Club meets monthly at the Chamber office.

Military Recognition - March

Richard Crowley, Air Force Colonel (Ret.)

The distinguished career of Richard Crowley, a retired United States Air Force Colonel, showcases his extensive expertise in nuclear operations and maintenance, program management, logistics, and transportation. With an exceptional record of leadership and strategic oversight, Crowley has played a pivotal role in advancing national security initiatives and operational efficiency throughout his career.

Colonel Crowley’s military service includes key leadership assignments, including Deputy Director of Logistics and Communications for Air Force Space Command and Vice Commander of the 90th Space Wing. In addition, he has served in several Commander positions, leading units ranging from 500 to 3,000 personnel with outstanding results.

Among his most notable achievements, Crowley successfully oversaw the implementation of a $6.2 billion Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system modernization program, ensuring enhanced defense capabilities. His leadership also resulted in record-setting milestones in both weapon system and vehicle fleet incommission rates, further strengthening the operational readiness of U.S. defense forces. Additionally, he led a highly successful national-level nuclear weapons accident response demonstration, which was attended by 52 senior-level North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) members, underscoring his influence on international military collaboration and safety protocols.

Colonel Richard Crowley’s vast experience and leadership continue to make a significant impact beyond his military service, influencing strategic operations and inspiring future leaders across multiple disciplines.

Military Recognition - April

James Hines, Sergeant First Class (Ret.)

James Hines is a dedicated husband, father, and veteran who has been married to his wife, Tanya, for 24 years and has called the Riverview area home since 2004. Together, they are the proud parents of three sons: Cameron, a Tactical Air Controller in the Air Force; Garrett, a Military Police officer stationed at Fort Riley; and Avery, their youngest, who is 20.

James’s distinguished 26-year Army career concluded in 2021 when he retired as a Sergeant Firs Class with the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. His service included deployments to Bosnia, Kuwait, and Djibouti, where he supported operations such as

SFOR, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, and CJTF-HOA, experiences that underscored his commitment to service.

Following his military career, James pursued higher education, earning a BS in Business Management and an MBA in Project Management. He also attained certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Currently, he leverages these skills as an IT Program Manager at Caterpillar.

James is also passionate about helping fellow veterans transition to civilian careers, serving as a Career Readiness Instructor with FourBlock, a non-profit organization focused on veteran career development. Additionally, he is a co-founder of Experienced Autism Alliance, an organization dedicated to empowering families and individuals affected by autism through resource connection, education, and community support.

The Central Hillsborough County Chamber of Commerce Education Council focuses on addressing educational needs, promoting workforce development, and supporting educational initiatives within the local community. The Council collaborates to enhance educational opportunities, bridge the gap between education and workforce needs, and promote a skilled and competitive workforce. The Council fosters partnerships and collaboration between businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations to address educational needs and promote workforce development.

Workforce Development Partners

Workforce Development Partners (WDP), established in 2015 in Plant City, Florida, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating life-changing opportunities for students and their families, aiding company growth, and serving as an economic catalyst for communities. Their flagship initiative, the Future Career Academy (FCA), prepares and connects graduating seniors with local employment and training opportunities.

Mission and Vision

WDP's mission centers on fostering workforce innovation through collaborative models. By bridging individuals to long-term career growth and sustainable employment, they not only support personal development but also contribute to the economic vitality of the community.

The Future Career Academy

The FCA began as a grassroots effort in Plant City, evolving from a single job fair at Plant City High School in 2015. The enthusiasm from students, teachers, and employers highlighted the need for expanded opportunities post-graduation. Today, the FCA operates across all high schools, career centers, and exceptional centers in Hillsborough County Public Schools, offering programs that teach essential soft skills like professional attire and interview techniques.

Community Engagement and Events

WDP actively engages with the community through events such as the Plant City Future Fair Hiring Event, scheduled for April 23, 2025, at the Trinkle CenterHillsborough Community College. These events provide students with direct access to potential employers, facilitating meaningful connections that can lead to employment.

Riverview Woman’s Club

The Riverview Woman’s Club, established in April 2012 by Donna Lee Fore and Jeanne R. Burkeson, is a non-profit 501(c)(7) organization based in Riverview, Florida. Its mission is to enrich the community through fellowship and educational support, with core values centered on community, service, diversity, leadership, connection, and fun.

Since its inception, the club has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors, supporting their pursuit of higher education. In celebration of its 10th anniversary in 2022, the club awarded a record number of scholarships, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to empowering the next generation.

The Riverview Woman’s Club offers a welcoming environment for women from various backgrounds—including stay-at-home mothers, business professionals, retirees, and entrepreneurs—to connect, share experiences, and contribute to community initiatives. Membership is open to women from Riverview and neighboring areas such as Brandon, Apollo Beach, Sun City Center, Dover, and Wimauma. Men are also welcome to join as Associate Members.

The club's annual calendar runs from September through June, featuring monthly luncheons, evening mixers, cultural site visits, and fundraising events. These gatherings provide opportunities for networking, personal growth, and community service. Additionally, the club hosts various events during the summer to maintain engagement and fellowship among members.

Through its dedicated efforts in scholarship provision, community service, and fostering connections among members, the Riverview Woman’s Club continues to make a positive impact in the Riverview area.

Chamber Luncheon - March

The Central Hillsborough County Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) hosted their Monthly Membership Meeting on Tuesday, March 25th, at the beautiful Winthrop Barn Theatre in Riverview. A delicious lunch was beautifully displayed and served by 3 C’s Catering. Dave Lechuga with Florida Executive Realty delivered the day’s Invocation to begin the meeting. Leading the attendees this month in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance was the CHCC Military Affairs Council Co-Leader, Rich Rohde of R Processor, Inc. Mr. Rohde then introduced the military honoree for this month, Richard Crowley, retired Air Force Colonel and owner of Graze Craze.

CHCC Board Chair, Tammy See with OEL Heating & Cooling, started the meeting by welcoming the crowd, recognizing the past Presidents and Board Chairs, as well as the current Board of Directors who were in attendance.

The sponsor for this month’s luncheon was St. Joseph’s Hospital South with Patrick Downes addressing the crowd. Nonprofit Spotlight member, Yvonne Fry with Workforce Development Partners spoke to the crowd highlighing her organization. The member spotlight was The Regent, with Faith Moeller speaking regarding the local business.

Tammy See welcomed and recognized 23 renewing members during the luncheon, and Ambassadors Renee Scott and Annette Bilyeu introduced the 12 new members joining the Chamber.

Leading the attendees this month in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance was the CHCC Military Affairs Council Co-Leader, Rich Rohde of R Processor, Inc. Mr. Rohde then introduced the military honoree for this month, James Hines, retired Sergeant First Class.

CHCC Board Chair, Tammy See with OEL Heating & Cooling, started the meeting by welcoming the crowd, recognizing the past Presidents and Board Chairs, as well as the current Board of Directors who were in attendance.

The sponsor for this month’s luncheon was Trax Credit Union. Joe Nichols spoke to the crowd regarding the business and many services available.

The Member Spotlight was Tameka Copeland with Star Love Scrubs, and she had a spotlight moment to highlight her business. The Nonprofit Spotlight member was Riverview Woman’s Club, and Donna Fore had a few minutes to inform the crowd about their organization.

There were 8 new members welcomed to the Chamber, and 21 renewing members who were recognized.
