People’s Credit Union Donates $10,000 to the East Bay Community Action Program People’s Credit Union is pleased to announce a $10,000 donation to the East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) in support of the Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone (NFCOZ). NFCOZ is a holistic program designed to promote child and family wellness. “Partnering with programs that help provide stability and support for families is important to us here at People’s Credit Union,” said Sean Daly, People’s Credit Union’s President & CEO. “The Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone’s childcare program does just that by focusing on education preparedness, and by providing a fun safe place for children, peace of mind for families, and vital support for working families.” “This generous contribution from People’s Credit Union will help tremendously with the Champion Childcare program, operated by East Bay Community Action Program’s Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone,” stated Dennis Roy, EBCAP’s President & CEO. “The childcare program provides before and after school care for Pell Elementary School students, and, like childcare programs across the state, it is facing financial challenges due to COVID19. Longer hours for staff, reduced (capped) enrollment, loss of revenue from students needing to quarantine, and other increased costs are among the most significant challenges. Our program remains committed to providing high-quality childcare for students attending the Pell Elementary School. Working parents depend on this program to provide high-quality care for their children. SCORE Rhode Island Recognized as a Top Chapter in the Country
Providence, RI, February 24, 2021 --(PR.com)-- SCORE has named Rhode Island its Northeast Region Chapter of the Year in recognition of the chapter's commitment to outstanding service in helping entrepreneurs start and grow businesses in the past year. The chapter achieved success by focusing on the needs of their small business clients, partnering with more than 30 other organizations in the community, and achieving one of the highest market penetrations and client satisfaction ratings in the country.

For instance, 2020 total services increased 45% with exceptionally high-quality service to their clients featuring a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 92% and an outstanding 72% client conversion rate. Rhode Island is a Diamond Chapter with 5 years in a row of Platinum Status.

The Newport String Project presents virtual series Hidden Newport at the Newport Congregational Church (Feb 28th at 2pm EST) The Newport String Project is excited to share the third virtual concert in our new series Hidden Newport, showcasing some of Newport’s most beautiful and unusual locations through virtual chamber music concerts. This performance, premiering on February 28th at 2pm on YouTube, features the Newport Congregational Church, the only surviving comprehensive architectural interior by the renowned American artist John La Farge, who was inspired by geometric patterns of Byzantine, Moorish and Persian tiles in his designs. The program will include works by Henry Purcell, Alan Hovhaness, Komitas, and an arrangement of the Unst Boat Song from the Shetland Islands.
