HR ROUND TABLE THE FUTURE OF TALENT ATTRACTION — WHAT MATTERS TO TOMORROW’S WORKFORCE MATTERS TODAY Join us for a conversation about talent. Because when you have the right talent fit, you experience increased profitability, performance and productivity—the three essentials for any successful business. Attracting that kind of talent requires taking a close look at company culture, recruiting strategies and hiring processes. We’ll learn: - THE STEPS TO TALENT ATTRACTION Today’s best prospects are focused on what businesses have to offer them – and it’s more than a paycheck. They want to know your company culture, values and mission. They’re shopping benefits. They’re seeking fulfilling careers with businesses that are in tune with their needs. - THE RECRUITING EXPERIENCE You want the recruiting experience to be a good one. Even if it doesn’t work out for a job candidate, the recruiting experience can still be a good one. And that person can affect how others view your company. - AND, HOW THE PANDEMIC HAS IMPACTED THE FUTURE OF WORK AND EMPLOYEE EXPECTATIONS The startling COVID19 changes have not only changed how work is currently being conducted, but also how it will continue to operate in the future. It didn’t just show us that we can easily work from home, but it will completely change the future of work in a variety of ways. Presented by Michael, Human Resource Consultant with Insperity. His focus is on helping organizations create a competitive advantage with their human talent. He accomplishes this through scalable solutions, emphasizing success and accountability while understanding potential risk.

Thinking Outside the Four Walls: Age-Friendly Housing Ideas for How and Where You Want to Live Presented by AARP Rhode Island It’s time to reframe how we think about housing as we grow older. Aging in place is possible if homes are designed or modified to accommodate for changing needs or if communities have housing options that are suitable for differing incomes, ages and life stages. AARP Rhode Island’s recent Vital Voices survey of adults age 45-plus found that 85% believe staying in their own home is important. Nearly half consider the availability of affordable housing a very serious problem in our state.

JOIN US Tuesday, April 26 10 a. m. – 11:30 a.m.

Join AARP Rhode Island for a FREE virtual forum as we explore exciting housing possibilities and trends. National and local experts will discuss housing choices such as accessory dwelling units (ADUs), tiny homes, intergenerational home sharing, communities of mutual support and popular modifications you can make to your current home.

Who Should Attend? • State and local elected officials and policy makers • City and town department leaders (i.e., housing, planning, parks, transportation) • Community organizations (i.e., neighborhood associations, faith-based, urban developers) • Age-friendly advocates • Citizens interested in improving their communities • Residents planning for their futures Keynote Speaker Danielle Arigoni, Director of Livable Communities, AARP Government Affairs Panel • Andrea Burns, Director, Age-Friendly Boston • Caroline Gangji, Executive Director, The Village Common of Rhode Island • Mark Kravatz, Executive Director, Habit for Humanity of Greater Providence • David Salvatore, Councilman, City of Providence; Government Affairs Director, RI Association of Realtors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Newport Historical Society Executive Director to Retire; Kittleman & Associates Engaged for Search Newport, RI (April 2022) – Newport Historical Society, a multifaceted organization that manages renowned Newport properties like the Colony House and the Brick Market and a robust collection of historical artifacts, documents and properties, in addition to providing the public with exhibits, tours, and immersive learning experiences, is embarking on a search for a new Executive Director with the aim of transitioning the role in January 2023. Ruth Taylor, the outgoing NHS Executive Director, has led the organization through an exceptional period of growth and evolution for over 15 years, during which she and the NHS team, with the guidance of the NHS Board of Directors, have provided the public with unparalleled access to the richness of Newport’s history. Taylor’s tenure has seen the expansion and careful management of NHS’s collections and properties, the creation of a resource-rich digital presence accessible from anywhere in the world, the development of new educational and community dialogue programs, the renovation and expansion of the headquarters building and doubling of the NHS endowment through a successful capital campaign, and the articulation and advancement of the institution’s mission and vision. Her retirement will shift her focus to family, sharing her expertise through a consulting practice, and other personal interests. NHS has engaged Kittleman & Associates, a Chicago-based search firm that specializes in connecting talent with nonprofit organizations, to guide them in bringing a new Executive Director to lead NHS in 2023 and beyond. Paul McGreevy, President of the Board of Directors commented, “Our outgoing Executive Director, Ruth Taylor has set a high bar for this role through her excellent service, and we're looking forward to continuing into a bright future with a new director when Ruth departs NHS at the end of the year.” Stephen Huttler, NHS Board member and head of the Search Committee, added, “We're excited to be embarking on our executive director search with the very qualified Kittleman & Associates.” About the Newport Historical Society Since 1854, the Newport Historical Society has collected and preserved the artifacts, photographs, documents, publications, and genealogical records that relate to the history

Film Screening of To Which We Belong with Jamestown Filmmaker, Farmers, and Conservationist at the Jamestown Arts Center Jamestown, RI, April 11, 2022—With quiet courage, the farmers and ranchers featured in the award-winning documentary To Which We Belong are improving the health of our soil and sea to save their livelihoods—and our planet. On Friday, April 29 at 7 pm, the film’s Co-director, Producer, and Jamestown, RI, resident Lindsay Richardson will be joined by Jamestown farmers Bob Sutton (Jamestown Community Farm), the Neale family (from Windmist Farm), and local conservationist and soil scientist Jim Turenne for a discussion following the film screening at the Jamestown Arts Center. Richardson explains “I am particularly excited to be able to share this film with the local community and to discuss the great work the panelists do to improve the health of our soil and produce amazing food right here in Rhode Island.” To Which We Belong follows a new generation of nine farmers and ranchers across the world who seek to rebuild their businesses and the planet by embracing the interconnectedness of living things. The film was awarded Best Documentary at Durango Film (2022), the 2021 Audience Award at the Maui Film Festival, award for Spirit of Activism at the Livable Planet Film Festival, San Francisco, and Official Selection for Newport Film, Woods Hole Film Festival, Calgary Independent Film, and One Earth Film Festival, to name a few. Pamela Tanner Boll, the film’s Director and Executive Producer, says “Our film’s mission is to amplify the unsung heroes who are already practicing regenerative agriculture and the scientists, businesses, and non-profits who are working on financial incentives that will lead us to reduce - and eventually reverse - climate change on a global scale.” The screening at the Jamestown Arts Center will be followed by a panel discussion with the film’s co-director, producer, and Jamestown resident Lindsay Richardson, along with local Jamestown farmers and conservationists: Bob Sutton, manager of Jamestown Community Farm, the Neale family from Windmist Farm, and Jim Turenne, certified soil expert and the Assistant State Soil Scientist for the USDA-NRCS. Additional information at jamestownartcenter.org/events Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for JAC Members, Seniors and Students. Space is limited, reserve tickets in advance at jamestownartcenter.org/events At a Glance: WHAT: Film screening of To Which We Belong followed by discussion with Jamestown residents Lindsay Richardson, Bob Sutton, Jim Turenne, and the Neale family. The JAC opened in 2010 in a former boat repair shop redesigned by award-winning architects Estes/Twombly. Since 2014, it’s won 5 of Rhode Island Monthly’s ‘Best of Rhode Island’ awards, including the Editor’s Pick for Outdoor Art in 2021. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 19, 2022

THE SAILING MUSEUM ANNOUNCES MAY 10TH GRAND OPENING Newport, R.I. – The Sailing Museum announced today it will officially open its doors to the public on May 10th, 2022. Located on the waterfront of downtown Newport in the historic Armory Building built in 1894, the museum will offer an innovative multi-media experience. An educational and cultural non-profit organization, The Sailing Museum will feature the National Sailing Hall of Fame and America’s Cup Hall of Fame. In the space once used as the Press Room for the America’s Cup, the heritage of sailing will be celebrated, the legends of the sport honored, and new sailors and innovators inspired. In addition to the Halls of Fame, The Sailing Museum will feature a mix of high- and low-tech interactive exhibits that share the principles of sailing, provide seasoned sailors with opportunities to test their skills and knowledge and connect new sailors with resources to get started on their sailing journey. A collaborative design effort led by award-winning Healy Kohler Design, The Sailing Museum will offer sailing enthusiasts the chance to revel in their sport and new sailors to be enticed to take to the water for the first time. The personalized museum journey begins with the selection of a boat. For sailors, they can select from one of seven; while those experiencing sailing for the first time will be given the option of a short quiz that will help them select a boat. For all, this boat will become their avatar throughout their museum experience, guiding them through the interactive elements, and offering the chance to build skills and earn virtual rewards. The first floor of the museum is divided into six thematic areas: Wind & Water; The Making of a Sailor: Mental; The Making of a Sailor: Physical; Teamwork; Competition; and Legends of Sailing – National Sailing Hall of Fame & America’s Cup Hall of Fame. The second floor is home to additional exhibits and a private lounge honoring Hall of Famers. Embedded with ‘stealth learning’, exhibits will provide real-world applications of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) concepts that come alive through sailing. These five disciplines are used in everyday activities, promoting problem solving, and creative and analytical thinking in a more open-ended way and make them applicable to real life. Formal and informal educational programming will be layered into the experience throughout the year. “The museum is Newport and Rhode Island's newest cultural institution and tourist attraction and is directly tied to the heritage and identity of the Ocean State,” said Heather Ruhsam, Executive Director, The Sailing Museum. “Opening the museum fulfills a longstanding vision

THE SAILING MUSEUM ANNOUNCES MAY 10TH GRAND OPENING PAGE 2 of the organization’s founders. A dream 17 years in the making, made possible by the work and support of so many individuals who came together to make this truly stunning location a reality. The Sailing Museum is not only intended to preserve the history of the sport, but to educate and inspire future sailors and innovators.” “Our new home will be a feast for the senses, harnessing technology to bring the excitement of sailing to life and honoring our sport’s heroes in exciting and innovative ways,” said Gus Carlson, President of the National Sailing Hall of Fame. “Our goal is to create a special place that engages everyone, from our sport’s faithful to casual sailors to newcomers who are curious about what happens when wind and water meet. We are confident The Sailing Museum will be a unique venue to showcase our sport and the accomplishments of its heroes.” “In The Sailing Museum, sailing has a home that trumpets its achievements and inspires generations to excel on the water, and to serve the sport,” said Gary Jobson, Hall of Famer and Board Member. “The memorable moments in our sport are countless, and unless there is a common place to preserve these memories, we’re in danger of losing the relevance of sailing’s past and future.” “Sailing is an activity without limits,” said Betsy Alison, Hall of Famer and United States Paralympic Sailing Team Coach. “The Sailing Museum stresses the inclusivity of the sport and is a venue that celebrates the passion that drives people to take to the water. I am confident that the exhibits here will educate and entertain visitors of all abilities or interests.” “I am lucky indeed to be a member of both the National Sailing Hall of Fame and the America’s Cup Hall of Fame,” said Tom Whidden, Executive Chairman, North Technology Group. “What an honor it will be to sit alongside so many accomplished people, who have achieved so much in our sport, presented in this incredible new facility in Newport. For anyone, of any age, who loves to sail, The Sailing Museum will be a must visit.” A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Friday, May 6th from 10:30 a.m. to noon, to which the public is invited to attend. Rhode Island Lt. Governor Matos will be in attendance and the Governor will provide remarks alongside other dignitaries. Beginning May 10th through the Summer season, The Sailing Museum will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets will be offered at $18, with discounts for seniors, students and military, and children 10 and under will enjoy the museum free of charge. In keeping with their goal to increase access to the sport and create an inclusive environment to learn, The Sailing Museum is a member of the Museums for All program, which provides reduced admission to low-income visitors at over 800 museums in the country. Tickets for visitors participating in the SNAP program will be $2.
