We are excited to host the Minnesota Senior Games and are here to ensure you have a great experience. As the fastest growing metropolitan area in the state, Greater Mankato offers major metro conveniences and attractions with the charm you can get only from a close-knit community.

Our community has an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts. Take some time and stop by one of our top-notch parks such as Sibley Park, which sport gorgeous flower and stone gardens, access to the river, HealthBeat outdoor exercise equipment and an award-winning playground and petting zoo. Just outside of town is Minneopa State Park with waterfalls, hiking trails and is home to our local bison herd. With our bronze-level biking destination status, you will find plenty of trails within and around the community to enjoy whether you're on bike or on foot.

Be sure to stup in downtown Mankato's City Center which offers a variety of great food and entertainment. Also, dont miss out on enjoying the CityArt Walking Sculputre Tour.

Wow!Zone Social Saturday, Aug 14 6-8 pm Wow!Zone Family Entertainment Center 2030 Adams Street - Mankato Light appetizers will be served at 6 PM and all attendees will receive one drink ticket, and activity player specials.

Wow!Zone has state of the art bowling lanes, laser tag, black light mini golf, full arcade and sports bar & restaurant.

General Information AGE: Participants should register according to their age as of 12/31/2021 Age Groups: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-89, 90-94, 95-99, 99+ CHECK-IN TIMES: Participants should be at their event venue 15 minutes prior to the starting time. Bringing your own water bottle is strongly encouraged; each location will have access to water and rest rooms. Maps and directions to each event location are available at the packet pick up location and on the website.

AWARDS: Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age category at the event venue. The Minnesota Senior Games are “OPEN” to out-of-state residents. Competition must take place to determine an award winner. If there is only one individual entered in an age group, that athlete must compete in the event in order to receive a medal. That athlete will be placed in closest age category to compete with, but not against those athletes.

CANCELLATIONS / POSTPONEMENT / REFUNDS: In the event of inclement weather or unusual/extenuating circumstances, Senior Game officials reserve the right to change the format of the competition, postpone events, or cancel. Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the local organizing committee of the 2021 MN Senior State Games.

TOURNAMENT PLAY: Unless otherwise noted, Round Robin Tournament format will be used with players advancing to a championship bracket, if needed. Tournament format subject to change.

NATIONAL SENIOR GAMES: The 2021 Senior Games hosted by Visit Mankato is a qualifier for the 2022 National Senior Games held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, May 10-23, 2022.

QUALIFYING FOR NATIONALS There are a couple of ways to secure your spot for the National Senior Games: • Place in the top 4 of your age group (MN residents).

• Meet the national standards for your specific sport.

• Since the MN Senior Games were canceled in 2020, if you qualified in the 2019 MN Senior Games, you will qualify for the 2022 National Senior Games.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR NATIONALS? Visit Mankato will submit all qualifying results from the 2021 MN Senior Games to the National Senior Games office. If you qualified in 2019 those results have been submitted already.

Once results are verified for accuracy, athletes will receive a qualification/registration notice from the National Senior Game Association Office.

Play shall consist of a five-game match.

The winner shall be the first player to win three games. Each game is won by the player who gets 11 points first, and a game must be won by at least two points. Each side of the table alternates serving two points at a time, with the exception of 1010 (“deuce”), after which service alternates at every point. Throughout the match play shall be continuous, with a one-minute break between games. There is also one (and only) 1-minute time-out allowed for the whole match.
