Family fun at Summer Fest at Lakewood Center

Lakewood Center is hosting the “Lakewood Community Summer Fest” on Saturday, August 18 from 3 to 9 p.m. outside the mall near El Torito restaurant. The event will include food trucks, inflatable rides, a fashion show, the onstage recognition of Lakewood heroes and free giveaways. A special feature will be a concert by the ‘80s group Knyght Ryder, one of the perennial favorite bands at Lakewood’s Concert in the Parks. They’ll hit the stage at 6 p.m. “Summer Fest is one of our

ways of saying thank-you to the Lakewood community,” said Lakewood Center Senior Property Manager Deena Henry. “As a Lakewood resident myself, I know how local families love an opportunity for some affordable fun close to home, and Lakewood Center wants to be a place you can do that!” The special day is sponsored by Lakewood Center in conjunction with the City of Lakewood and the Lakewood Sheriff ’s Station. “Lakewood Center has been extremely important to the economic health of our commu-

nity since it opened as America’s largest regional mall in the 1950s,” said Lakewood Mayor Steve Croft. “I hope residents from Lakewood will come to the mall for this day and night of fun.
