Lakewood city staff and officials are closely monitoring information and recommendations from the L.A. County Department of Public Health and the state and federal governments in terms of actions to take here in Lakewood. For the latest Lakewood-specific guidelines, advice and information on the coronavirus, please visit the city website at www. lakewoodcity.org or call City Hall at 562-866-9771. Among the special actions being taken by the City of Lakewood are Meals On Wheels
delivered to homes and other services provided to seniors and other populations vulnerable to the coronavirus. The city also has information on its website helpful to employers and employees who have suffered losses because of the coronavirus. “I encourage all Lakewood residents to keep ‘social distancing’ and careful hygiene in mind right now,” said Mayor Todd Rogers. “You want to minimize the times you are around people. Obviously you need to care for your family,
but you want to minimize your other interactions. “Please also consider reaching out to your neighbors who may need help during this difficult time. Together, we can be responsible in our personal lives, be good neighbors, and get through this big health care challenge in the best way possible in Lakewood. Thanks everyone and hang in there!” For additional information, visit the L.A. County Department of Public Health at http://publichealth.lacounty.gov. ♦
