Promoting EventDriven Economic Vitality: Alignment & Conferences Task Force
Written By: Lisa Jossart, Vice President of Economic Development, Greater Green Bay Chamber
The Greater Green Bay Economic Development Strategic Plan outlines a comprehensive set of community driven initiatives aimed at strengthening both our economy and community. Last updated in 2021, the plan highlights Alignment & Conferences as one of 7 key focus areas. These initiatives seek to foster greater collaboration with the Green Bay Packers and elevate the role of conferences and events within the Greater Green Bay region.
As a path to the implementation of these initiatives, the Greater Green Bay Chamber convenes the Alignment & Conferences Task Force. The task force’s primary objective is to enhance regional awareness of Greater Green Bay as a premier destination for hosting events, while emphasizing the significant role that such events play in fostering a thriving economy and community. Hosting events not only adds value to our existing community members but also generates high profile exposure that attracts new talent, businesses and visitors to the region.
The task force convenes quarterly to exchange ideas and provide progress updates. Comprised of subject matter experts from local municipalities and organizations such as PMI, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, the Green Bay Packers and Discover Green
Bay, the group works collaboratively to drive these initiatives forward.
Members of the Alignment & Conferences Task Force were instrumental in bringing the 2025 NFL Draft to Green Bay—the largest event our community has ever hosted. This success is a testament to the power of collaboration in attracting events. Whether large or small, education-focused or industry specific, we continue to highlight the diverse array of attractions and resources that make Greater Green Bay an ideal location for events.
The Alignment & Conferences Task Force is open to individuals interested in taking a more active role in this work.
