VEY APPOINTED AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF POLICY AND RESEARCH FOR THE GREATER BALTIMORE COMMITTEE (Bal�more, MD) – The Greater Bal�more Commitee (GBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer S. Vey as the Execu�ve Vice President of Policy and Research. With more than 25 years of experience in urban policy research and program management, Vey brings a wealth of exper�se and a deep commitment to the connec�on between place, placemaking, and inclusive economic development. As Execu�ve Vice President of Policy and Research, Vey will play a pivotal role in shaping the GBC's policy ini�a�ves and research agenda. Her exper�se in urban policy and planning, community reinvestment, placemaking, and metropolitan growth and development will be instrumental in guiding the GBC's efforts to promote equitable economic growth, job crea�on, and workforce development in the Bal�more region. Her leadership will undoubtedly propel the GBC's policy and research efforts to new heights, strengthening how we inform and engage our members on bold economic ideas, while amplifying the region’s poten�al to local, na�onal, and interna�onal stakeholders," said Mark Anthony Thomas, President & CEO of the Greater Bal�more Commitee. Vey joins the GBC from The Brookings Ins�tu�on, where she most recently served as Senior Fellow and Director of the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Center for Transforma�ve Placemaking, a research center focused on the intersec�on between placemaking and inclusive economy building. Her visionary leadership and strategic approach led to the development of comprehensive research agendas and the publica�on of original reports, op-eds, and ar�cles that have contributed significantly to the field; she also co-edited two books. Prior to Brookings, Vey served in various roles with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Vey has made significant contribu�ons to the Bal�more community, leading a groundbreaking project on economic development in the region that culminated in the publica�on "Building from Strength: Crea�ng Opportunity in Bal�more's Next Economy." She is an ac�ve member of the Bal�more community serving on various nonprofit boards, including the Neighborhood Design Center and the Bal�more Arts Realty Corpora�on, where she currently serves as Board Chair. Vey earned a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning degree from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Bucknell University. In 2001, Vey received a Na�onal Development Council Economic Development Finance Professional Cer�fica�on.
