Category: Harborplace
A plan currently calls for the redevelopment of Harborplace into high rise buildings offering a mix of uses including apartments on the waterfront. Do you support this plan and if not, what would you prefer to see in its place?
• Yes We heard from community members at several open planning commission meetings, multiple community forums, a committee hearing with hours of public testimony, and a full legislative process.
• There will be many more hours dedicated to working to ensure it is transparent, inclusive, and successful for all our city residents.
Category: Public Safety
Baltimore’s homicide rate dropped in 2023 for the first time in nearly a decade. What do you believe is the council’s role in overseeing the police department and what would be your approach?
• Hold the department accountable and transparent with oversight hearings, ensure the most effective leaders are in place to make decisions with our vote to approve the Commissioner, and fighting to bring local control of the department back to City Hall.
• Continue to work with the department to assess what has worked well, what needs improvement, and to ensure they are protecting and serving our community.
Category: Delivery of City Services
What weaknesses do you see in the delivery of city services? What can be done to improve response time and resident satisfaction?
• Transparency and efficiency are monumental in delivering satisfactory services.
• Agencies should be increasing their communication with the communities, and I will continue to hold them accountable in doing so.
