Great Blue Heron Outdoors was born from a love of water– wading and exploring lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands; and a desire to build a community with a shared passion.
We are a Quiet Water Outfitter; offering advice, support, and gear for fly fishing, spin fishing, paddling, and other wading sports.
Our shop and cafe is located in Downtown Lawrence, Kansas. It is where our community gathers, and we serve coffee and many other beverages.
We believe it’s important to get in the water and “Get Your Feet Wet.” We encourage adventure, awareness, and curiosity.
Like the Great Blue Heron, we are patient. We often think of our activities as “waiting” sports. Quiet, observant, and deliberate.
From making coffee, to paddling a stream, to casting a fly, we believe in simplicity and taking “Only What You Need.”
We are mindful of one another and our environment. We practice generosity, inclusivity, and courtesy, and kindness.
