The truth is in the results Resolved cost overruns on $1b skyscraper GRC assisted an international developer to plan and control costs during the design phase of a structurally complex $1 billion skyscraper in Brisbane. We successfully resolved cost overruns by analysing the structural model, drawing on our indepth local pricing knowledge, and working closely the trusted sub contractors to find cost effective solutions to complex issues.

Managed risk on 100% scope increase GRC was engaged by a major contractor who had successfully won a large portion of works in the Surat Basin, Eastern Australia. The contractor had a contractual obligation with their client to re-baseline their project cost when construction documentation was released. GRC successfully identified the project scope had increased by 100% and then helped to secure approval for the associated cost. This significantly reduced our client’s exposure to risk.

Delivered 7.5% cost saving on residential development GRC provided a pre-tender estimate for a 14 level residential development in South Brisbane, which revealed the initial project design was over budget. We subsequently ran several value management sessions to reduce project cost by 7.5% while maintaining quality. We also assisted with design management to ensure savings were reflected across all documents prior to tender. The development sold out in Stage 1 with the second residential tower released earlier than expected to meet demand.

Progressed complex rectification works In 2017, a 5 star resort in the Whitsundays was severely damaged by cyclone Debbie. GRC was appointed to act as the independent quantity surveyor for both the client and the contractor on significant and complex rectification works. The project contractor praised GRC’s work: GRC...“have done a top job, working with little information, [you] have pulled together the tools that have provided the detail to progress the project.
