Helping Hounds: Fostering a Dog – Emma Zaletnik Grayshott Concerts – Peter Harrison 26,27

Helping Hounds Hampshire and Surrounds is a non-profit Dog Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming group. Most of our dogs are from Romania but we believe love has no borders. Our mantra is ‘quality over quantity’ and to achieve this we have kennels based in Grayshott, where we can build their trust, confidence and social skills. We also have a small number of very supportive fosterers in the surrounding area but we need some more! We are looking for dedicated and loving fosterers to care for our beautiful rescue dogs. So, what is a fosterer? A fosterer is a person of superhero abilities famed for making precious memories, who loves unconditionally and makes a dog feel safe no matter what else is going on in the world. (They are also a giver of tummy rubs and yummy treats!) Fostering involves loving, caring, socialising, playing and just ‘being’ with the dog. Your presence alone can do wonders for a dog’s growth and progression so if you work from home or don’t work at all, this could be a great opportunity for you! Although the kennels are great for some dogs, others thrive and progress quicker in a homely setting. An environment can mean everything to do a dog and we want to offer this opportunity to as many of them as possible! Each dog has a different personality, with different preferences, and needs so we would never turn a foster application away if the home wasn’t right for one dog - your home may not be right one but it could be the world to another, so please don’t be hesitate to submit an application because you have children, or if your fence is under 6 foot! The great thing about fostering is that you may have an older dog to stay and then the next, you’ll have a little puppy! Of course you’d have a say in the sort of dog you are comfortable with but foster dogs come in all shapes and sizes! Interested? Fill out an application form on our website or give us a ring on 07570 985884!

Grayshott Concerts World class Performances on your Doorstep

. . . . . and Hands Up if you know the answer to this!

Which Anniversary is Grayshott CE Primary School celebrating this year? 25 years? 50 years? 75 years? 100 years? Or more? Astonishingly, our Primary School is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year! Pat yourself on the back if you knew. And there’s lots going on by the School to mark this momentous occasion: Maypole Dancing; An Historic Exhibition; Planting an Oak tree; Erecting a Flagpole; Presentation of a Commemoration Mug to every pupil; Writing Competition; A Drone Photo Project (pictured) – and much more!

And Grayshott Concerts doesn’t want to be left out of the Celebrations either. So we’ve decided on a great Birthday Present – for all the School: We’re bringing one of the world’s top international Orchestras to the School on Monday 13th June, for an exclusive concert – for all the pupils – featuring, not just one, but TWO iconic works – written specially for children.

‘Peter and the Wolf’ (Prokofiev) coupled with ‘Carnival of the Animals’ (Saint-Seans), are highly popular works needing a Narrator to bring the stories to life – and we’ve managed to secure a Star performer to entertain the children. She is Polly Ives, one of the UK’s best music educationalists renowned for her work as a Presenter.

Happy Birthday, Grayshott Primary!
