Gravity is grieved to announce the passing of one of our incredible employees, Daniel Roberts. Daniel served Gravity as a Field Technician for the Power Segment at our Oklahoma City location. Daniel was hired on with us in April and had made a tremendous impact over the short six months we had him. Daniel not only had an impact here at Gravity but also in his community, as seen in his obituary below:

Daniel Eugene Roberts, 50, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, left this world on October 3, 2023, following a tragic motorcycle accident. He was an incredible husband, and a loving father of three sons, one bonus son, and three grandbabies. Daniel was born on January 5, 1973, to Ray Eugene Roberts and Peggy Yvonne Roberts in Oklahoma City. He graduated from El Reno High School and immediately began working. He spent the last 31 years in the oilfield. His career has ranged from working as a caser, casing sales, backyard services, and solids control to his current position with Gravity Oilfield Services in power generation. p4

Not only was Daniel a giant of a man, he had a heart that was even bigger. He was nicknamed Big Happy in the biker community; having a loud, infectious laugh that made everyone else laugh when they heard it. He loved 4 letter words, a one-rock Evan Williams highball (trust me the glass makes it look fancier than it tastes!), Harleys, restoring old Ford Trucks, rebuilding tractors, rebuilding homes, and coming up with new chicken coop designs. He was a tinkerer and delighted in pulling old Fords out of fields with pack rats posted up throughout the engine or a huge tree growing through engine cavities that broke 2 chainsaws trying to remove. He was a believer in what’s possible and that’s the lens his eyes viewed everything through. Where we see junk – he sees treasure! Searching for parts through classic car sites, and driving to other states to pick up a “oneof-a-kind find!” gave him so much joy. Some of the biggest smiles and loudest laughs came as he fired up ole Blanche (71 Ford/tree for an engine) or Beulah (57 Panel Wagon/packrats.) He accomplished this with no formal training other than patience, extreme stubbornness, and the immense pleasure it gave him to say – I DID IT! And more than a few “I told you “so’s” sprinkled in along the way. His greatest loves were his wife, his family, friends who are family, his pups Roxy and Penny, his neighbors, and his godchildren. All who had the pleasure of knowing him can testify that when he loved you, you knew – it was unquestionable! Daniel is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his three boys, Aaron, Dillion, and Austin; his bonus son, Zane; two godchildren, Eldon and Bri; two brothers, Jason and Josh; two adopted brothers, Scott and Todd; his biological parents, Ray and Peggy; his adopted parents, Connie and Austin; three grandchildren, Waylon, Danielle and Weston; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and kids he called his own in our community. My name is Jose Guzman. I am currently a mechanic here in the Gravity Artesia branch. I started working in this branch with limited knowledge of some of the units. However, I was given the chance to put my mechanical skills to the test. I work with some talented people who have helped me hone my skills for Gravity. I am thankful for the people that I work with and who have helped me when I’ve had questions about a project. I try my best every day to learn more and become a true asset to the Gravity team here in Artesia. For me, my family is everything. My wife Glafira and my son Jose Adrian are my motivation to keep on going and be the person I am today. I work every day so I can provide for them and be able to bring us together again. Currently, my family is in Mexico. While it's been a difficult two years waiting for their visas, I am thankful that Gravity understands my situation and has allowed me the opportunity to go see my family when I can. I love being with my family and spending time with them as much as I can. My goal is to keep moving forward in this company to learn as much as I can and be a great asset to the company.
