Hello Gravity family! I want to take the opportunity to say a quick hello from Gravity’s northern operations. Watford City, ND, is a special place, and I enjoy living and working here. In some ways, this part of North Dakota reminds me of the panhandle of Texas, where I grew up. This is a very close-knit community with roots in farming and ranching. My family and I have made North Dakota our home, and we enjoy the challenge of living so far north.
The challenge of living in North Dakota is appealing because we know it’s not for everyone. I have spent so much of my life living and working in such austere places like Djibouti, Sudan, Chad, Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and others that I’ve come to appreciate the
people that make their living/life in harsh conditions.
Our Gravity team up here is no exception. We work together, play together, and look out for the rest. Each employee embraces the various challenges at work or in life, and they never cease to impress me. Each person wants to be better and do better all the time. No one here wants to stay in the status quo, and I am proud of that. Our goal as a team is to get better and stronger, take on more, and grow our market share.
I grew up on a farm and ranch, which gave me an appreciation for hard work and the feeling of accomplishment that comes from “getting it done.” The Marine Corp instilled discipline and a refusal to quit on anything. Working with PSD (Personal Security Detachments) and project management operations overseas gave me an appreciation for being flexible and realizing there is always a way. And working with Gravity encompasses all of these things and more.
Stay safe out there, Gravity family. Respectfully,
“THE WINDS AND WAVES ARE ALWAYS ON THE SIDE OF THE ABLEST NAVIGATORS.”

For September, we take you north to a town called “Jackalope City,” also known as Douglas, Wyoming. Established in 1887, with a total population of 805 residents, Douglas was born as the result of the extension of the Fremont, Elkhorn, and Missouri Valley Railroad through Central Wyoming. It was named after Stephen A Douglas, a noted statesman from Illinois.
Fun fact, you can obtain a hunting license at the Douglas Railroad Museum for the mythic “Jackalope” creature that is part jackrabbit and part antelope.
Known for getting the job done, this small crew produces significant results for Gravity. With a vast area to service, our Douglas team gets it done. They may be low in headcount, but they have the entire Gravity family behind them. They may even be a tad isolated in Jackalope City, but their continued commitment to ontime, excellent service, impacts Gravity as a whole.
Gravity, in fact, had difficulty obtaining pictures of this hard-working team, as they were in the field doing what they do, day in and day out. (Or maybe they were out hunting jackalopes). We are thankful for this tight-knit team representing Gravity in Wyoming.

Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be an attorney. I would go to LSU and then to law school I wanted to be a litigator because my parents always said I would be good at it since I was headstrong and could argue with the best of them. But it wasn’t until I started at LSU and did a research paper on BP America and the Refinery explosion that I knew exactly what field I wanted to work in. From that moment on, I told myself I wanted to work in the legal oil and gas field. My dream job is to be an attorney for BP America and make a change for the better one day.
My drive to constantly better myself and work hard comes from three people: my mom, dad, and grandma. My dad has worked his whole life to put our family first, even if that meant working late night shifts or having to work out of town for a while. My mom showed me how to be determined and gave me the work ethic I have today. She started her own company from nothing and is thriving to this day. My parents have raised three hard-working and sometimes hardheaded children who give their best at everything and know how to succeed. I do my best because I also want to be a role model for my two younger brothers.
My grandma Laura showed me that when times get rough, I have the strength to keep moving forward and to keep the faith. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me And the stories about my grandma Regina have shown me what it means to be a woman ’ s woman. They have all shown me that nothing is impossible if I put my mind to it. They have taught me that if there is one thing I know about myself, it’s that I can and will get through whatever lies ahead. opportunity.
I have been blessed with an amazing family, husband, and career There is no doubt in my mind that the numerous amounts of support I get from my husband and family have helped me get to where I am today. Every day I strive to be my best and give 100% of my effort. Today, I am one step closer to my goals as I work for Gravity I have always been very family-oriented, so my career with Gravity has been my best work experience. Never before in a workplace have I felt so heard or supported, and the amount of praise and reassurance this company gives is indescribable. I couldn’t have asked for a better career and cannot thank Dustin and Lauren enough for the opportunity.
