Hey everyone! I was so excited when asked to share my experience being a part of Gravity’s Remote Workforce. I’ve been working remotely since 2019, and I feel that it has allowed me to be happier and feel more fulfilled in my work.
Working remotely is not for everyone. There are so many personalities within Gravity that all learn, grow, and thrive in different environments. I will be the first to say that when I worked at the Midland office, of course, there were pros and cons. There was the face-to-face interaction that so many of us needed and the ability to walk down the hall to problem solve versus an email or Teams call as I do today.
However, just like anything, when the environment is changed, there is a part of you that changes with it. For me, the lack of a daily commute truly led to increased productivity in my workload. Many have a glorified view of what working remotely is really like. It may sound like a “slide-out-of-bed-at-8-AM, flexible schedule paradise,” but it’s not, and it comes with a cost. And that is, feeling like you never get a break from your work. It’s easy to overwork myself since my computer is always around, even “after hours.”
A new type of work/life balance had to be learned for my family, and ultimately, for us, it works, and we are grateful for it. One thing I enjoy about my role at Gravity is that it’s given me the opportunity to put my skills and education to use while also being challenged to learn and grow.
The Financial Reporting team is small, but I feel that our work is an important factor in what makes Gravity great. In 2023, I’m looking forward to finishing another audit and contributing to the continued success of this company, remotely. :)

We Are Hiring

Featured Branch

With Gravity’s Midland office having moved to Odessa, we now have an official Odessa Business Office. We call it our "new location" for our Midland group; however, the building has been here since the LTR days. It sits right next to the Odessa Power Generation yard, just a few feet away, actually. It serves Gravity in many facets, housing our Permian sales group, Information Technology personnel, HR, and provides a landing spot for our Remote Workforce during special projects, monthly meetings, etc.
The Odessa Business Office prides itself on serving the Gravity community. So many behind-the-scenes tasks are completed here to ensure smooth operations company-wide. Another perk of moving to this location is the community. Being neighbors to the Power-Gen side has been good as they often share meeting spaces, meals, and good conversations.

One of the new faces in the business office is Katie Koszewski. Katie serves multiple functions, primarily as the Sales Support Admin and the Office Coordinator for the new business office.
When we think of rolling up our sleeves and putting in crazy long hours, we might first think of our incredible “boots on the ground” frontline employees. The Odessa Business Office and the people who call it home are no strangers to hard work.
Whether it’s the month’s end close or IT projects, the people in the office come together and get it done. As mentioned, this office also serves as a landing place for some of our Remote Workforce. Since Gravity began the Remote Workforce option last year, it has become a force not to be reckoned with.
The amount of teamwork and camaraderie that happens here and remotely is truly unbelievable.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT MY JOB
Helping Others and Problem-Solving
FAVORITE QUOTE
I think this quote by Pablo Picasso is my favorite because this is pretty much how I do my job. I wouldn’t say I like putting things off; I want to get things crossed off my list and move on to the next issue that needs my attention, and I don’t like people waiting on me to do their job.
MY ROLE MODEL
My mom because she was always firm with my sister and me while showing compassion and interest in our daily lives at the same time. She taught me how to be a good mom, and it is my hope that I am passing that along to my three girls.
