For our April Featured Branch, we take you to a branch that is further away from any other Gravity location in the company – Oakdale, Pennsylvania. A short 30-mile drive from Pittsburgh, the Oakdale branch is managed by Daryl Cogley. He runs a tight ship, a skill that could be attributed to his time serving our country in the United States Coastguard! Gravity is always proud to employ veterans, and we are not only delighted to see what Daryl has done in Oakdale since his promotion to Branch Manager in 2020 but also excited to see what he will do in the future.

With Oakdale being a smaller branch, our staff knows each other not only as coworkers but on a personal level as well, making it much like a second family. Employees are willing to step up to help each other out and make sure we are all remaining safe throughout each day. I’m especially proud of the fact that Oakdale has been 2,918 days (almost 8 years) without a recordable incident. This is a direct result of everyone adhering to safety standards and looking out for each other.

FEATURED BRANCH

Our employees' overall dedication to building ongoing relationships with our customers and vendors has proved to be a valuable asset for our branch. We have a reputation in our region for exceptional service and response times when customers need our assistance.

p7

I have received multiple calls from customers, including one just this week from an Ascent Resources safety officer, thanking me for the knowledge and efforts our field techs provide while at their locations. These kinds of customer interactions stand out to our customers and provide us opportunities for additional and continuing business with not only them but any others they may share their Gravity experience with.

B. Earth Day

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2023 is Invest In Our Planet.

C. April 17, 1964

The Mustang's grand debut came on April 14, 1964, for the press, and on April 17, 1964, for the general public. The official unveiling took place at the largest exhibit at the New York World's Fair, the Ford Pavilion, also known as the Wonder Rotunda.

B.

McDonald's Dick and Mac McDonald moved to California to seek opportunities they felt were unavailable in New England. Failing in the movie business, they subsequently proved successful in operating drive-in restaurants. In 1948 they took a risk by streamlining their operations and introducing their Speedee Service System featuring 15-cent hamburgers. The restaurant’s success led the brothers to begin franchising their concept.
