As of March 18th, Greg Carrasco joined the HR team and has hit the ground running as our new HR Field Manager.

Like his predecessor, Greg comes from a law enforcement background. He served the people of Roswell, New Mexico as a police officer from 1998 until his retirement in 2018. During his tenure, he held Federal Special Deputization with the ATF, US Marshals Service, FBI, and DEA. He also served as a SWAT Hostage Negotiator and Crisis Intervention Team Member. Following his career with the Roswell Police Department, Greg worked in private security before working as a Corporate Manager for Southwestern Wireless in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas.

Greg’s outgoing personality coupled with his experience working with people in a variety of ways will prove valuable to our team. He’s really looking forward to getting to know our people here at Gravity in the months and years to come.

Greg can be reached via email at Greg.Carrasco@gvty.com or phone at 806.891.3543.

John wants everyone to know he is leaving you in good hands… and also, he wanted one more chance to have his picture in the Center of Gravity newsletter.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
As we feature the northern region for our Q2 newsletter, we would like to introduce the man who is charged with keeping it all safe; and by all, we mean our people.

JARED LARA

Operations Support Manager (OSM)

Jared Lara, originally from Lubbock, TX, moved to Dickinson, ND, to cover Gravity’s northern most branches.

Gravity had the chance to sit down with Jared and discuss several things that were important to him as the region's OSM. Here's what he had to say:

“I have found that my job is not so much in keeping everyone safe, but rather teaching them how to be safe. If I can get through to someone one-on-one, in a safety meeting or in a post-incident review on how their safety practices impact so many. We're talking about family members and friends, all of whom want you to come home safely at the end of the day. So, I'm not the only one out there who wants to see you get home safely. Before you skip over a safety step, remember that.”

“I'll be honest, there are a lot of rules, hundreds of policies, policies about policies, and they may seem superfluous to some. It changes the way you think about it when you understand that some of these policies were written in blood, and others in souls. That is what I am committed to here, to educating people. Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. It’s the same in the safety world. We all must realize that we contribute to that ounce of prevention when we have the right mindset”.

Jared certainly knows the risks of not covering all the bases. Deployed in two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan while serving in the United States Marine Corps, one of Jared’s jobs was in explosives detections. Missing a small mine there could mean the lives of those who followed behind him. To say that Jared takes safety seriously would be an understatement. We are thankful to have Jared’s knowledge and experience in such a vital role within Gravity. We are also thankful for Jared’s service to our County. Gravity has always been proud to employ veterans.

If you find yourself in Gravity’s northern region, we hope you contact Jared and maybe even meet him for a meal (Japanese is his favorite).

Another fun fact about Jared, he doesn’t like his birthday to be made into a “big deal”. So we ask that everyone reading this please put February 27th in your calendar and give him an over-the-top birthday wish each year.

In the meantime, stay safe out there!

MEMORIAL DAY

MAY 27 TH

As we approach Memorial Day on May 27th, it's important to remember the solemn significance of this day. While for some it may mark the beginning of summer with family gatherings and barbecues, it's important to recognize Memorial Day as a time to honor and remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Traditionally known as "Decoration Day," Memorial Day serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness and valor displayed by those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we hold dear. It's not merely a day for celebration, but rather a time for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.

For many veterans, Memorial Day is a solemn occasion, a day to honor their fallen comrades and pay tribute to their unwavering commitment to duty and country. It's not a day for festive greetings or casual remarks, but rather a moment to honor the solemnity of their sacrifice.

At Gravity, we extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women who have courageously served our nation and to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. This Memorial Day, let us pause to honor their memory and reflect on the profound debt of gratitude we owe to our fallen heroes.

17 PET OF THE QUARTER

A WORD FROM NORTH REGION POWER GENERATION DIRECTOR

STEVE LUDWIG

Dear North Region Power Generation Employees,

I wanted to share some recent feedback that truly highlights the exceptional work and dedication of our team. Two of our esteemed clients recently expressed their gratitude for the outstanding service we provided in the face of extreme weather conditions, specifically in the chilling temperatures of -30°F.

In their appreciative messages, both companies emphasized their gratitude for our team's commitment to servicing equipment despite the harsh conditions and freezing temperatures, making our team's dedication stand out even more.

Your willingness to go above and beyond, braving the -30°F temperatures to ensure the smooth functioning of the equipment, has not only strengthened our relationships with these clients but has also set us apart in the industry. It is a testament to your professionalism, resilience, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

I want to personally commend each and every one of you for the outstanding representation of our company values. Your efforts have not only been noticed by our clients but have also reinforced our reputation as a team that can be relied upon, regardless of the challenges presented by extreme weather conditions.

Thank you for your dedication and the positive impact you've made on our client relationships. Your exceptional service does not go unnoticed, and I am proud to lead a team that consistently goes the extra mile.

Best regards,
