A Word From

It is truly a privilege to serve Gravity as the Personnel Manager, and I don’t say that lightly. This position is unique as I get to be directly involved with onboarding our incredible employees, assisting them along the way, and watching as they move up in the company. We hear the term “Gravity Family” or “Gravity Community”; I will tell you, that has genuinely been my experience here.

I entered the oilfield in 2005, working for Patterson Drilling in their benefits department. My next move was to Nabors Well Servicing, where I was responsible for maintaining several different divisions as their office clerk. It was a lot of hard work that I believe ultimately prepared me for my current role.

I began my career with Gravity (Globe, at the time) in the Fall 2012. I was hired as their Personnel Representative. It’s funny how some titles ring just right for the person. I don’t say that because I think I was the best Personnel Rep in the world, only because I loved what I did. As a representative, I was proud to get to represent everyone who came on board. In 2017, I was promoted to Personnel Manager, and now I get to help manage our employees by assisting them in navigating anything and everything personnel-related. I love it! Working with the Gravity Human Resources team has taught me so much!

When asked what I enjoy about my current role, that’s an easy answer; my team. When I come to work, I

can honestly say I look forward to it. It doesn’t feel like a “job” most of the time. We all have different duties (and we all have “those” days), but we all help each other when needed. The pandemic was an example of that. It tested our HR team and each manager, and every employee. I feel we are a stronger family and force because of it. Ultimately, we all work hard for our families. I was born and raised in Snyder, TX. I grew up with the best parents I could ask for! I grew up with an older brother, a younger brother, and a little sister, whom I had to wait for 16 years. My parents were my role models; my father was a truck driver for McCormick Marketing for 30 years until he passed in 2011. He was such a hard and dedicated worker who put family first.

My mother was a stay-at-home mom, which we know is a full-time job. They both lead us by their example. Our kids keep us busy, but we always find time to wind down together, whether it’s playing board games, movie night, or just hanging out on the patio making smores with some good conversation.

I will leave you with this; just like any family or community, you can choose to bring hard work, positivity, and your A-game each day you show up. In my experience, people who do this find the most fulfillment in their roles here at Gravity. Keep up the great work, and let me know if there is anything I can help with in your journey here.

This month we are excited to bring you not to a new branch, just a newly relocated one. After the sale of the Fluids division, the Snyder Business Office building went with it. Luckily, we had our former completions yard available to us. A few months later, and after some remodeling, our Snyder Business Office team was able to move in. This business office is critical to Gravity’s operation, and the people inside make it happen.

“Hello, friends! For those of you who I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, I’m Glenn Willis. I was born in Enid, Oklahoma, and moved to Texas as soon as I could Brownfield, Texas, is where I grew up and have lived my entire life. My wife and I have been married for 34 years and have two great kids, Jay and Heaven.

I am also blessed with 6 grandsons who are my best friends and what I live for. In my spare time, I enjoy yard work and tinkering with cars and engines.
