Denver City, Texas. While most of us brought in the New Year last month making changes, resolutions, and spending time with friends and loved ones, one family within Gravity faced a challenge no one was ready for. Eutimio Rodriguez, one of our drivers out of Denver City, Texas, passed away unexpectedly.

When Gravity learned of Eutimio's passing, it hit hard. The Rodriguez family shared that Eutimio loved being a part of the Gravity community and was proud to work here. Gravity is, without a doubt, a better place because of Eutimio and others like him.

Eutimio leaves behind a beautiful family. One of Eutimio’s sons, Erick, continues work for Gravity and had this to say, “My dad loved his job here, but even more, he loved the people he worked with. I know I have big shoes to fill, and I hope to make him proud as I pick up where he left off. Our family has felt the support from Gravity, and it means the world to us. Thank you.” Please remember Eutimio’s family and work-family in your thoughts and prayers.

Everyone in OKC is ready to get the job done and help their team. It doesn’t matter what job title you have or what division you work for; there is always someone willing to lend a hand. There are so many moving parts at this branch. If the sales folks were not out doing what they do best, we would suffer. If the mechanics were not extra thorough, we would suffer. If our field techs, coordinators, and shop hands were not giving 100% right now, we would suffer. Each position is vital to our success, and each position is a person. So, what makes this branch special? The people.

Everyone at the branch exhibits traditional Oklahoma values. Service, honor, and kindness are important to us here in Oklahoma City. These attributes lend themselves to providing excellent customer service even when times are tough. We always pull our boots on and get going. They are a great bunch of people and getting to know all of them has been the highlight of my time at Gravity.

For this month’s featured place to eat, we take you just a few miles up the road from our Tech Management yard in Seminole, Texas, to introduce you to Perika’s Terrace. A local favorite since its opening in 2016. Perika’s Terrace is known for its relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere along with an incredible menu.

The moment you walk into this place, you know you ' ve hit a local treasure. From their kind staff to local history plastered on the wall, this pub exudes a warm, southwestern feel that pulls you right in. In warmer months, take advantage of Perika's rooftop terrace that offers access to the full menu, bar, and specialty cigars, all enjoyed under a big Texas sky As the inviting environment draws you in, the spectacular food will make you sit and stay awhile. Everything on the menu will send your taste buds through the roof.

Meet Jose "Joe" Nunez

This month’s Spotlight Employee takes us to our Power & Rental branch in Pecos, Texas. Jose “Joe” Nunez came to Gravity in April of 2017.

I have worked for Gravity for almost five years. Starting my career with Gravity is one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I started my career as a mechanic. In April of 2019, I was promoted to Natural Gas Coordinator, and I love it. After working in the field, I better understand how things look on paper compared to how it translates in day-to-day operations. My goal is to ensure that our people have what they need to take great care of our customers and get home to their families at the end of the day.

Our management here in Pecos gives me the support I need to do my job effectively, which is huge. I was born and raised right here in Pecos; it’s my home. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a great job in their hometown.

My wife Samantha has been my biggest supporter throughout my career. Samantha and I have five kids and enjoy spending time outside of work with them. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors and taking trips for sports. I love riding my motorcycle and watching my kids play sports in my off time. I also enjoy shooting firearms. I would love the opportunity to move up in the company down the road to take on more responsibilities and challenges.
