Many thanks to the Golf Chair, Rich Cavoto and the committee for putting together a fun event. It was great getting back on the course and hitting the ball around. We expect many of you that missed this event will be at the 68th MWFA Golf Outing in August held at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL. Mark your calendars for November 4th, 2021. We will be in person once again for our annual scholarship award ceremony and dinner. The MWFA has awarded close to 600 scholarships, just shy of $1M to talented recipients. Be sure to share information on this opportunity with your coworkers.

MWFA introduces a new feature called “Member Highlight” - allowing members to showcase their company in an upcoming MWFA newsletter. FASTENER TRAINING WEEK AUGUST 16th - AUGUST 20th
August 16th-20th, 2021 FASTENER TRAINING WEEK
The Fastener Training Institute and the Industrial Fasteners Institute partner to present the week-long intensive version of FTI’s Certified Fastener Specialist advanced technical training program. This class will be offered at the Belvedere, Elk Grove, IL, commencing the week of August16th.

Fastener Training Week includes everything that a student would experience in the regular seven-course CFS training, but all on consecutive days. MWFA Members receive substantial registration discounts. For more information and registration, visit www.fastenertraining.org.
MWFA RECONNECTS FOR ‘SCREWED UP’ GOLF OUTING The MWFA decided to have an informal Golf Outing on May 19th to allow members and fastener friends a chance to get together before August. There was definitely interest in getting together as 60 golfers came together for the outing. White Pines in Bensenville, IL hosted the event utilizing both their courses to allow the golfers to finish close together to join for refreshments and prizes. Each team was awarded a MWFA 75th Anniversary golf ball which they had to try and not lose during their round. Only two teams returned with the 75th ball. The team who returned with the lower score being the winner.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE SEPT 1st It’s time to think about passing the word, to your employees/coworkers, to take advantage of the opportunity for students to apply for a MWFA Scholarship. Several scholarships will be awarded. Minimum scholarship is $1,500. The son or daughter (natural or step or dependent child), as well as a spouse of an employee, or employee of a dues-paid MWFA member are eligible to apply for a scholarship. This applies to all MWFA members who have been members for one calendar year or more. Dues must be current to apply. As a reminder, all Scholarship Applications are due by September 1st, 2021.
