In keeping with the concerns of safety for our members, the MWFA has chosen to move some of their events to later in the year to allow time for more normalcy. To make it easier for industry and your personal scheduling we have put our major events into one week. This is what the week looks like.
AUGUST 16th, 2021 Product knowledge is crucial in the fastener industry. An important part of this knowledge is the ability to read and understand prints. Are you aware of the types of Prints? Are you aware of the details of a print? Are you aware of where to find standard specs? To increase your ability to answer these and many more questions, attend this half-day seminar.
AUGUST 17th, 2021 The Mid-West Fastener Association will host their 39th Table Top Fastener Show again at Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove, IL. Fastener suppliers are invited to showcase their products and/ or services at this one-day show. We’ve all been navigating the challenges of COVID, now the personal networking and opportunity for hands on product options are back.. Attendees will have the opportunity to reacquaint with companies as well as source new companies. The Table Top format allows suppliers a convenient and economical venue to showcase their products/services in the heart of the fastener industry. AUGUST 17th, 2021 MWFA CELEBRATES 75 YEARS CBNSA/MWFA turns 75 this year and has lots to celebrate. We’re looking forward to a year of celebration. Don’t know about the CBNSA years? It all started when the average cost of a new house was $5,600, average wages were $2,500 (yes, a year), gas was 15 cents a gallon, coffee was 85 cents for 2 pounds, a new car was $1,120 and the first electric blanket came out. The MWFA was once called Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association. With evolving times and increased interest in membership, the association changed their name to Mid-West Fastener Association to avoid confusion that only Chicago members could join. MWFA began meetings around the Midwest. The CBNSA has a great deal of history and many people to thank. Our CBNSA past presidents will be entering the CBNSA/MWFA Hall of Fame August 16th. We invite all past Board Members, all association members, fastener friends and families to attend. The 75th anniversary celebration will be special times to be part of and remember. Everyone loves learning about past history that they can relate to. What better way to learn about the past of the MWFA than to come meet those people responsible for earlier years and hear their memories. We will have special speakers from the last few decades of the CBNSA name. You’re sure to learn things you didn’t know, have some laughs and have an awesome evening featuring the past that paved way for the present.
