2020 marks 75 years since Victory in Europe or VE day, when the Second World War finally came to an end.
Like so many other villages, towns and cities, Ledbury has its own history and community entwined with the sacrifice and commitment of those who fought and gave their lives. The town’s Royal British Legion Club, who support serving and exserving armed force personnel and their families, is marking this significant milestone by celebrating a week of VE Day with events starting from Saturday 9th May. The Club would like to welcome the Ledbury community and those from further afield to join them (non-members welcome), with all events taking place at the Ledbury Royal British Legion Club on Church Street.

All welcome, a maximum of 5 per team. Members £2 / Non-members £3 – pay on the door. Bar serving drinks and snacks, doors open 7pm. Sunday, 10th May, 3pm AFTERNOON TEA Enjoy a host of afternoon tea delights from Hilary Jones and her team, with both vegetarian and gluten free options available. Guests are encouraged to dress in the spirit of VE Day, but this isn’t essential! Friday, 15th May, 8pm THE BLUEBIRD BELLES Dubbed 'the best thing since The Andrews Sisters', The Bluebird Belles are a professional 1940s & Vintage vocal harmony trio from the West Midlands, and will be delivering a fun filled evening of dancing and music. Fancy dress welcome! Tickets cost £7.50pp (to include a light buffet), available directly from The Club.
