Excellence Innovation Integrity Community

If you have never read the book, “212° the Extra Degree”, I would encourage you to do so For 2023, that is the theme your Grapevine Chamber Board is working under – focusing on that extra degree. As you read the book, you will find that at 211° water is hot, but at 212° water begins to produce steam, and with steam you can move a locomotive Just that one extra degree can make a powerful change to what is and what can be.

s community that is a part of the chamber, this grow and build on its mission to collaborate, d advocate for business to add value to our he “covid” years, businesses and leaders came her and provide a powerful community of hope, le our goals and aspirations are to continue to Maykus, our 2023 Chair encouraged the Board at ocus on that one degree. Not using our energy on ing focus on making everything we do together at we had it in 2022. 2023 Chair, most of you are aware that Kosse ttack on the night before the infamous tornados. ere working to board up broken windows and d/ reopen, the Maykus family was facing the of them The good news is that the Grapevine ep him with us, and Baylor Grapevine was able to g ke the journey to their heart hospital in Plano. Currently he remains in ICU in stable condition (for the most part), but with stage 4 heart failure. Your Board of Directors wishes to remain positive and with the faith that he will be surrounded by a medical team and the prayers that will allow him to find healing in the new year With that belief, the Chamber’s Executive Board has chosen to do what we do best, team up with the 2022 and the 2023 Executive Boards to move forward together, one degree at a time, and to fill in for Kosse until he can be back with us. Phil Cunningham will continue to serve as our Interim Immediate Past Chair, and Trudy Cresswell will continue to serve as our Interim Chair, with the 2023 Executive Board moving into their new positions to serve (Kelly Schwartz –Chair Elect, Joseph Stanyer – Vice Chair and Sue Wykes as Treasurer).

For each of you, we ask that besides keeping the Maykus family in your thoughts and prayers, you consider perhaps finding just one committee, one networking group or one event to visit or become a part of for the new year You don’t have to go all in, since we know that you are still working to build your own business, but we know that together – we can make great things happen! We look forward to continuing to build our businesses, friendships, community and Chamber, one degree at a time with you!
