The 31 person strong class of 2022 will celebrate graduation from their year-long program at the Chamber’s luncheon on Thursday, May 19th, at 11:30 a.m. May's luncheon, sponsored by Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake and hosted at Courtyard/TownePlace Suites, will include a Year in Review of the graduate's accomplishments, along with photo recap of year's activities. The new graduates are now able to move on to the next level of leadership and involvement in the Leadership Grapevine Program as alumni. In it's 30th year, Leadership Grapevine is a program of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Grapevine. The program offers an educational experience designed to develop an awareness of the city, its relationship with the DFW Metroplex, and to provide personal leadership training. At the conclusion of the program, participants are better prepared to seek leadership roles, both within their business and community. Applications for the 2022-2023 Leadership Grapevine class will open in June. The cost to attend the luncheon is $25 with a reservation by 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 17th, or $40 after that date. Perusing the Monday morning Chamber email, as I do every Monday, two things jumped out at me – for one, the Chamber never sleeps! While we are putting the finishing touches on our summer travel plans and dreaming about vacations days; the Chamber is busy planning community events, networking opportunities and just some good ole’ fashion fun. And two – we live in a fun community! Where else but Grapevine, TX does the Chamber provide information about a weekend dedicated to the Craft Brew experience, Happy Hour dedicated to young professionals, new business openings, networking opportunities over coffee and the chance for 52 people to win a case of wine throughout the year! Now that is a whole lot of fun in one newsletter. Let’s break down a couple of the newsletter items… Main Street Fest; May 20 – 22. Where else can you combine volunteerism, community outreach and more fun than you can shake a corndog at than volunteering a few hours at the Chamber concession trailer and beer booth. WOMEN'S DIVISION NEWS The Women’s Division just hosted the 26th annual Great Taste on April 21st and it was a smashing success. Thank you to all the participating restaurants, sponsors and to those who attended. We could not do it without the support of all in the community. So again, to each of you we say thank you!! Proceeds raised at the Great Taste and other fundraising events go toward helping those within the community. In the past 10 years, the Women’s Division has given out more than $440,000 to those less fortunate. Last year alone, we provided 1,501 GCISD students with school supplies at the start of the school year so they would be prepared to learn. At Christmas, we partnered with GRACE to assist almost 90 elderly with gifts and other items to insure they enjoyed a wonderful holiday season. It is one of our goals to continue to SERVE the community. We are moving forward into May looking forward to participating in Main Street Fest. Come see us Friday night in front of City Hall where we will be staffing one of the beer booths. Please consider joining our Women’s Division. It is a great way to meet other Chamber members interested in serving others.
