2021 was an interesting year for our business community. We have slowly moved forward in the global pandemic, and businesses throughout the region and state have worked hard to find ways to be open, be safe and successful. People have stepped up to help their neighbors, finding ways to get along & be happy. For the 2021 Grapevine Community Awards, neighbors and businesses alike have taken the time to nominate others for recognition for their efforts in, as 2021 Chairman Phil Cunningham’s motto, “Keep Moving Forward”. Like Walt Disney, Grapevine community and Chamber members worked to “open new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” The 2021 Community Awards event will be Thursday, January 27, 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. There, the following businesses and individuals will be recognized for their nominations, and the award winners will be announced.

JANUARY 2022 I 3

Amber was born in raised in Southwest Fort Worth before moving to Grapevine with her husband Russell in 2010. Even before moving to Grapevine, Amber & Russell fell in love with the city by performing at Runway Theatre back in 2004. Amber has a passion for theatre and everyone that knows her (and hears her) understands that passion. Starting theatre at 6 years old at Casa Manana in Fort Worth, she began to treasure entertaining and making people smile. In 2013, Russell & Amber visited their first escape room and she again fell in love, but this time with escape rooms. Theatre, entertainment, games, AND making people smile? She was sold! Grapevine Escape was born July 2014 and it has been an adventure ever since. Russell and Amber love creating rooms and watching people put away their phone to play, laugh and enjoy life. Grapevine Escape is rated as one of the top 100 escape rooms in the USA and just recently was nominated for the best escape rooms globally! Grapevine Escape offers something for every business need including virtual and live performances, on-site travel escapes, fully immersive rooms, or custom builds.
