2013 Ambassador of the Year - Debbie Gill

Spirit of Texas Bank

Congratulations to Debbie Gill for being named the 2013 Grapev ine Chamber Ambassador of the Year. Debbie was given this honor for being the most active Grapev ine Chamber Ambassador in 2013 – attending r ibbon cuttings and luncheons, as well as recr uiting new Ambassadors and Chamber members. Debbie has been an active part of the Chamber for more than four years. While being a v isible member of the Ambassadors, Debbie also does lots of work behind the scenes, including coordinating the Chamber’s Beer Booth volunteers. She has the same work ethic for her clients as a realtor for Keller Williams that she has for the Chamber, as she has been helping people w ith their real estate needs for more than nine years. Whether you’re consider ing listing your house or looking for a new one, contact Debbie at (972) 8776147 or debbiegill@kw.com.

Happy New Year from your 2014 Chairman of the Board Happy New Year! I am honored to serve as your Chairman of the Board for 2014. Classic Chevrolet has been an active member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce since 1991, and I currently am the Fleet Manager at The Thompson Group, Classic Chevrolet. 2014 has just begun, but your Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has been working diligently on planning this year. In February, we will finalize the 2014 goals that will allow your organization to continue

to promote business that adds value to our community. I look forward to working alongside and with you to accomplish them. For those of you that haven’t had a chance to participate in the Grapevine Chamber, I strongly encourage you to do so. We have so many opportunities to promote your business. There are days I look at my calendar and wonder how I can get it all accomplished. I often remind myself of a quote from Thomas Edison, “We often miss opportunity because

it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this year in your Chamber. I look forward to a great year. Thank you again for the privilege to serve as your Chairman for 2014.

Thanks for a Great HoHoHoedown! From the Chairpersons of the HoHoHoeDown,

The Women’s Division 3rd Annual Holiday Charity Event, the HoHoHoeDown, was quite a success this year! The timing was a bit of a challenge for everyone with the ice storm the previous week, re-scheduled holiday events, and Christmas only days away, but the event was as great as it has ever been! Thank you to all of you who purchased tickets to the event and for our raffles, everyone who graciously sponsored the event (especially presenting sponsor Park Place Lexus of Grapevine), all of those who donated items to our boot raffles and everyone who helped out with the event in some way. We truly appreciate your contributions! The numbers are still being tallied, but we can say with confidence that we exceeded most of our fundraising goals from our boot raffles and big board auction items as well as our sponsorships. The proceeds from this event will allow us to provide school supplies to underprivileged children in GCISD in the 20142015 school year, as well as provide a Christmas for low income seniors in our community next year. The evening was fun, the live music was great, the raffle items were fantastic, and the HoHoHoeDown was another wonderful success! Thank you again,

More information on the different award categories and the nomination form can be found at www.nationalsmallbusinessweek. sba.gov. The deadline for submitting nomination packets is January 17.

Win Money for Attending the Luncheon! Those in attendance for the December luncheon saw the “Must Be Present to Win” drawing continue its climb. The drawing gained another $50 and now sits at $1400. Each month at the luncheon, the drawing will grow as long as the person whose name is called is not in attendance. All you have to do is show up! How easy is that? All Chamber members’ names are in the drawing, sponsored by the First Financial Bank, NA. Cash in on your membership investment by attending the monthly luncheon for your chance to win!
