President’s Letter to the Membership Dear Members of Granite Golf Club, I trust this President’s letter finds you healthy, happy, and excited for the upcoming 2024 golf season. Over the last 12-months the board and management have been circulating information pertaining to a proposed golf course upgrade initiative aptly named Project Next 25 (PN25). We have also held a Town Hall meeting in the fall to share additional expert external recommendations as well as an opportunity for members to ask questions to management and the Board pertaining to this important project. Project Next 25 is aimed at proactively protecting our number one asset, the golf course, while elevating our already exceptional conditions by resurfacing our greens and renovating our bunkers. This is an ambitious endeavor that requires a significant investment of both capital and time. This multi-million-dollar project, if approved by the membership, is targeted to begin in mid-August 2026 and conclude in late June 2027. During the renovation, member access to the golf course will be affected. The golf course will be fully closed in the month of October of the 2026 golf season and the month of May in the 2027 season. Member access to the golf course will be limited to 9-holes in September of 2026 and June of 2027. The clubhouse, practice range and short game area will remain fully open for member use during this period. Once complete, our brand-new greens and bunkers will enhance member experience for years to come and, importantly, be in a much better position to protect the golf course from unpredictable weather-related risk of damage. We are in a fortunate position, the result of responsible governance decisions by previous boards, to complete this project with available cash on the balance sheet and without the need for any debt or member assessments. An initiative the size and scope of Project Next 25 requires formal support from the voting membership. Included in the AMM notice is the resolution unanimously approved by Granite Golf Club’s Board of Directors at the November 2023 meeting. Along with the usual business associated with the Annual Meeting of Members, scheduled for Saturday March 23rd, the voting members will be asked to approve the resolution pertaining to project Next 25, an approval that will pave the way for Granite Golf Club’s next 25 years of sustainability and success. Please complete and fill out the proxy prior to the AMM (link below) to ensure your voice is heard. FAQs remain on the Club’s website as a resource, should you require additional information relating to the project. My term as President of Granite Golf Club will formally come to an end at the AMM in March. It has truly been an honour and privilege to serve as your Club’s President over the past 12 months. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr. David MacLachlan, our incoming President for 2024. The Club is in extremely good hands with a dedicated Board and strong leadership that will no doubt continue to foster a culture of excellence and community. The Club is entering an exciting next chapter in its relatively young history. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Annual Member Meeting and for those unable to attend in person, welcoming you to a new golf season in the very near future at the Club.

Stephen Carlin, 2023 Club President
