Capitol Hill Breakfast a Great Success

Early on Wednesday morning, October 3, Masonic Brethren assembled together in the Cannon House Office Building for a breakfast hosted by the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia. The purpose of the breakfast, which was attended by Members of Congress and staffers who are Masons, was two-fold: first, to foster more outreach between the Grand Lodge of D.C. and Masons on the Hill, and second, to enjoy fellowship with Brethren who do not always have time to attend a meeting. sional Brethren told stories of Masonry in their neck of the woods. More than one Congressman shared that the reason they became Masons was because many Representatives in their home-state legislature were Masons. Most Worshipful Grand Master Robert B. Heyat, as well as Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master Akram Elias addressed the Brethren about topics such as strengthening Masonic outreach to our local communities, continuing the international Masonic outreach the District has so successfully started, and the joy felt of being surrounded by such high quality men of Masonry.
