by Baylor Orthopedic and Spine Hospital at Arlington Adventure Zone provides the highest intensity play for all ability levels. This zone features vibrant and whimsical play equipment, with a wide variety of play opportunities such as climbing, swinging, and spinning.

Abundant shade and areas to socialize will be spaced throughout the play area. This zone includes a play area specifically designed for toddlers with separated activities.

Parents and guardians have ample seating to socialize while supervising their family members and friends.

NEW! TRANQUIL ADVENTURES offers a passive place intended for gathering and repose, where over stimulation and excitement can be calmed with imaginary play, within a tranquil and separated zone, while maintaining a social atmosphere that might encourage personal interaction.

This zone offers whimsical play houses, a sensory art wall, spinning and a play hill that allows an individual to maintain their attention to their tasks which is so important in play.

PlayGrand Adventures provides a safe and fun playground experience of ‘EPIC’ proportions for all ages and abilities. The playground includes adventure areas which are designed to stimulate, challenge, and encourage development of several skill sets while providing social interaction, sense of discovery, creativity, and exercise.

THE ADVENTURE LAWN will provide an open space for non-structured play. The natural grass will invite families to picnic, run and roll down the back of the Adventure Hill.

The gently sloping and natural surfacing will allow wheelchair movement through the space, and allow for the imagination to take over, which is an important element in early childhood development.

NATURAL ADVENTURES will connect an existing lake and interactive water features where children and adults will interact and learn hydrology, biology, and environmental awareness. The Natural Adventures play area will be an extension of Woodland Adventures and Wild Adventures and its use of the natural environment as play.

SAFE ADVENTURE VILLAGE will reflect daily life in Grand Prairie. With miniature sponsored everyday life destinations, city landmarks, streets and sidewalks, visitors to this zone can learn and practice general bicycle and pedestrian transportation safety in a realistic, miniaturized and controlled environment.

SPORTS ADVENTURES will be a recreational hub for a variety of sports and activities. Its scaled courts and fields will accommodate all things sports, from basketball, baseball and softball to soccer and football with unstructured, imaginative play. A Challenge Course will encourage “ninjas’ to compete against each other, train and rehabilitate.

A 40-Yard Dash will test ones speed and fitness equipment suitable for all abilities is interspersed throughout the zone.

Located on the edge of a protected stream corridor, WOODLAND ADVENTURES will focus on connecting children and adults to nature. Woodland will emphasize natural materials and includes play features of stone, wood, and sand. A treehouse-like structure adjacent to the natural creek corridor will provide elevated views for children and adults alike.

With access to natural surface trails users will “Explore”, “Identify” and be “Conscious” of their natural environment.

ADVENTURE CHALLENGE will reflect the same whimsical elements as the Adventure Zone while providing extreme challenge and discovery levels for visitors. Elevated play events that bridge between towers will encourage cooperation between peers to promote success. Flying through the air on a zip-rail will give the sense of freedom and exhilaration. Younger visitors will be challenged with unique play equipment that enhances balance, spin control and agility.

10 MA’S CAFÉ, in association

with the GPISD Culinary Arts Program will offer a variety of healthy food and drink options. This facility and unique programs will give Special Needs adults the opportunity to assist in the operation and day to day service at the café. The PlayGrand Store, restrooms, indoor seating along with ample outdoor shaded seating located throughout the plaza will transform this into the hub of the playground.

ADVENTURE STARS will provide a unique venue for creative performances for children and adults of all abilities, with a variety of quality outdoor musical instruments producing outstanding tones, beats and harmonies. An outdoor accessible stage and seating area will provide a venue for performers to showcase their talents.

Lobby will open a store on the east side of SH 161 • Hobby next to Kohls with an opening scheduled for the end of

2022. Lucky’s Hot Chicken is building a restaurant just north of Dutch Brothers and Salad N Go will open on the east side of SH 161 and Warrior Trail. Rosa’s Mexican Café will build on the southwest corner of Mayfield and SH 161, Bahama Bucks shaved ice company will open on SH 161 just south of Forum and Tropical Smoothie Café will open on Camp Wisdom west of Lake Ridge. A groundbreaking is expected in late 2022 on an Alamo Drafthouse movie house, restaurant and brewery near SH 360 and I-20. The former Texas AirHogs minor league baseball stadium near Lone Star Park is undergoing a privately funded $13 million renovation and will open as a Cricket Stadium operated by USA Cricket and Major League Cricket. The 80,000-square-foot stadium is scheduled to be complete by late 2022 with a new natural grass field, modification to the seating capacity and additional restrooms.

VIA GRAND PRAIRIE – LET’S RIDE! On April 12, 2022, the city of Grand Prairie launched Via Grand Prairie, a new on-demand, shared public transportation service for $3 a ride. A minibus comes when you want and takes you where you want. To book a ride, riders can use the Via Grand Prairie mobile app or call 214-253-0874. Once a ride is entered with pickup and drop-off locations, the system will provide ride options. Once an option is selected, riders are directed to a nearby “virtual bus stop” within a short walking distance, and a driver is dispatched to meet them at that location.

Via Grand Prairie is a shared ride service, so other passengers may be picked up and dropped off along the way. To keep things running quickly and smoothly for everyone, riders will be asked to meet the van at a nearby corner (or “virtual bus stop”) instead of exactly at the address entered — that way, the driver can get everyone to their destination without making any detours.

Via Grand Prairie operates Monday-Saturday, 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.

For $3 per one-way trip, Via Grand Prairie will pick you up in Grand Prairie and take you to your destination in Grand Prairie. Add additional passengers for just $1. Seniors (65+) ride for $2 per trip, unless they are registered with the city’s Grand Connection transportation system, then is it $1 per trip.

3. Meet your Driver We’ll assign you a “virtual bus stop” —a pickup spot nearby that helps us avoid detours. Check the app to find out exactly where it is. It may be a short walk from the address you gave us. Meet your driver. EpicCentral GrandLawn, 2960 Epic Place EpicCentral will be hosting the 2nd Annual Paws in the Park followed by Movies on the Lawn. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are invited to take part in the tail waggin’ fun. Furry friends will have the opportunity to cool off in a splash zone dog park!

Owners will have the chance to gather important information on how to care for their dogs, and enter a free raffle that will include fun items for their pups! At sunset, a special movie will be shown on the big screen with sweets and treats available for purchase!

Youth Services Child Watch Service Tiny Tots: 3-24 mos Kids Play: 2-10 yrs The Epic’s Child Watch enables members to drop of their kiddos while they participate in fitness, adult programming, or other activities at the Epic. Culinary Classes Culinary classes are back! The Epic’s Culinary Kitchen is abuzz with classes and events that cater to adults and children. Many classes are taught by community members and restauranteurs with vast experience in food techniques. Wine tastings and dates nights are just some of the events we are planning for you. The Epic is also looking for local culinary talent to showcase their passions with the community.

Art Classes The Epic’s art classrooms will host a number of visual arts courses that will accommodate beginners as well as seasoned artists. With a focus on proper technique from trained instructors, classes will include painting, drawing, ceramics and other mixed media crafts. The space will also be available for paint party rentals and as a studio space rental.

The recording studio comprises both an engineering room powered by Neve 5088 & a live sound room. Professional sound engineers are available to assist with your quality production & also have access to ProTools and Logic for recording/post-production.

Gallery 2960 The Epic’s Art Gallery hosts showings for budding visual artists as well as established local artists. With the capability to provide an accompanying opening and closing reception, our goal is to show artwork for at least a month at a time so that the work will be exposed to hundreds of members and guests on a daily basis. All artwork will be labeled with name, title of work and contact information for pricing, if the artist chooses to sell.

Radio/Podcast Booth The Epic Radio Booth is located in the Grand Atrium to the right of the entrance. Equipped with state-of-art radio broadcasting and podcasting equipment, the booth provides the ideal environment for production.
