Dr. Jon Burke, Dean of Student Development and Athletic Director of MCC-Blue River, emphasizes the quality, affordable programming available to Grain Valley students.
“With a high school senior, my family is also looking at college and the cost of college. I knew this before, but I sure know it now: MCC is an affordable, quality option for college students,” says Burke.
Additional savings are available to students who participate in the A+ program. The A+ program will pay tuition (maximum of $166.00 per credit hour) to any Missouri public community college, vocational, or
technical school.
To be eligible for this benefit, students must enroll full-time (12 or more credit hours per semester) within 48 months after
graduation from high school. Students providing service to any branch of the U.S. armed forces can defer their eligibility beyond the 48 months if they return to fulltime student status within 12 months of the end of their military service. The benefits are paid by the state of Missouri after any federal or state grant for which you are eligible is applied.
Students may use A+ until 105
hours are completed in the program in which the student is enrolled or a degree or certificate is completed, whichever occurs first.
In addition to the affordability of
MCC-Blue River, Burke emphasizes the support students receive from a wide array of student support
services, from academics to career choices. For more information on MCC-Blue River, visit www.mcckc.edu.
