Denver Chalk Art Festival | June 2-3

WHERE: 1430 Larimer Square More than 200 professional, amateur and student artists will delight and amaze Denverites with their incredible talents in what has become one of the city’s most treasured events. Over the course of two days, the artists will take to the street armed with vivid pastel chalks and spend hours on their hands and knees recreating major masterpieces or sharing original works of art.

Juneteenth Music Festival | June 16th

WHERE: 27th & Welton St. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Juneteenth today celebrates African American freedom and achievement, while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures.

Denver PrideFest | June 16-17

WHERE: Civic Center Park, Broadway and Colfax Ave. One of the ten biggest Pride Fests in the U.S., this free weekend event in Civic Center Park features a parade, live music, food, and dance, all celebrating the local gay and lesbian community.

Cherry Blossom Festival | June 23-24

WHERE: Sakura Matsuri in LoDo on Lawrence Street between 19th and 20th Streets.

A celebration of Japanese-American culture, food, music and dance, Downtown Denver’s Cherry Blossom Festival offers a taste of the Far East in the Mile High City.

Cherry Creek Arts Festival | July 6-8

WHERE: Cherry Creek North from 2nd to 3rd Aves., on the seven streets between Columbine and Steele Sts. Over Forth of July Weekend, 350,000 visitors enjoy the visual, culinary and performing arts and interactive activities for the hole family. WHERE: Denver City Park Boasting three stages filled with jazz, rhythm and blues, gospel, reggae, and hiphop, this free festival in Denver City Park celebrates African American heritage with a parade, special exhibits, a marketplace, children’s arts programming, and socio-civic organizations.

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival | July 28-29

Set sail for summer fun at Sloan’s Lake Park, where vibrantly decorated dragon boats race in an exciting pan-Asian sport. This weekend-long event also features music, cultural exhibits, and delicious Asian cuisine.

Festivals & Attractions Golden Fine Arts Festival | Aug. 18-19

WHERE: Historic Downtown Golden The 26th Annual Golden Fine Arts Festival, presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, is one of the largest and most prestigious juried art shows in the country. The 2-day Festival features over 130 artists from 20 states, including many from Colorado. Artists will be juried in various media categories such as painting, sculpture, jewelry, and photography. The GFAF has free admission and will include food vendors, live music, locally brewed beer, and free art activities for children. We invite you to join us for this wonderful art show located adjacent to beautiful Clear Creek.

A Taste of Colorado | Sept. 1-3

WHERE: Civic Center Park, Broadway and Colfax Ave. A Taste Of Colorado is the end-of-summer celebration of community pride and spirit in the Denver region. Held every year over Labor Day Weekend in Civic Center Park, A Taste of Colorado puts the spotlight on the diversity of Colorado cuisine. Garden of the Gods

1805 N. 30th St., Colorado Springs Located 60 miles from Denver, the awe-inspiring Garden of the Gods features gigantic 500-foot high red sandstone rock monuments at the base of Pikes Peak.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre & Park

18300 W. Alameda Pkwy., Morrison Carved from towering red rock monuments, Red Rocks Amphitheatre & Park isone of the world’s most renowned concert venues. When there’s no concert, the free Visitor Center has a museum Performers’ Hall of Fame, while the surrounding park has hiking trails that weave in, around and over the colorful red rocks.

Travel back in time at the Littleton Museum and get a glimpse into Colorado’s pioneer past. Located on 39 acres, the museum consists of two living history farms (one from the 1860s and one from the 1890s), with a working farm, a blacksmith shop and more than 40,000 historically Colorado artifacts.

Colorado State Capitol Tour

200 E. Colfax Ave. Tour magnificent, gold-domed Colorado Capitol Building. Stand at exactly a mile high on the steps, see Allen True’s beautiful murals, listen in on the Colorado General Assembly, and check out the gorgeous Rose Onyx wainscoting.

Lariat Loop Byway

Retrace the motoring adventures of the early 1920s and experience the thrill of foothills exploration at the dawn of the Age of Motorcars on this 40-mile scenic circle in the foothills west of Denver. The Lariat Loop takes motorists to several popular attractions, including Buffalo Bill’s Grave & Museum, the Colorado Railroad Museum and the Mother Cabrini Shrine.

Denver Parks & Lakes

Denver’s city parks are beautiful. Confluence Park, located within walking distance Of downtown, offers sandy shores for sunbathing, a kayak practice route, and bike paths. Up in the Highlands neighborhood, explore Sloan’s Lake Park, an urban oasis with the enormous Sloan’s Lake taking center stage.

Estes Park

At the entrance to the legendary Rocky Mountain National, the historic resort village of Estes Park offers shopping and dining - as well as the hotel that inspired Stephen King’s The Shining!

Boulder

Peak To Peak Scenic & Historic Byway

Less than an hour from Denver, the 55-mile-long Peak To Peak Scenic & Historic Byway provides matchless views of the Continental Divide. From Black Hawk to Estes Park, the pleasantly winding road - the oldest scenic byway in Colorado meanders through valleys and ridges, with shimmering aspens visible throughout the entire route.

Denver Bike Trails

Denver is home to a massive network of more than 850 miles of paved, off-road trails that crisscross throughout the seven county metro area, making it a two-wheeled paradise. Paved trails connect to hundreds of additional miles of dirt trails, offering mountain bike adventures.

City Park Jazz heads into its 30th season with a great lineup of FREE Sunday concerts in the park.
