In just a short period of time, Gloria has jumped right into the Atlanta community reigniting “Positively Georgia” -- highlighting positive stories of everyday people thriving in and around metro Atlanta.

RICHMOND-SHOCKLEY Keynote Speaker Eslene Richmond-Shockley is truly an example of faith, perseverance, obedience and strength. A native of Guyana, South America, she grew up with her grandmother in the Nabaclis Village on the East Coast.
Prior to leaving the Mile High City, Gloria was part of the CBS4 6pm evening news team for almost 10 years. She also hosted The Gloria Neal Show on AM760 Radio. Before hosting her radio show, Gloria was the afternoon news anchor for Newsradio 850 KOA in Denver. In 2005, Gloria went to the FM side of radio as the morning co-host on Jammin 92.5. From there, Gloria joined the Denver Radio Company continuing her broadcasting career as the only woman solo-host of a morning drive radio show on Sassy 107.1 FM. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, working out, hiking, live music and the arts.
After the death of her parents and grandmother, Eslene left Guyana for the United States and studied International Economic and Finance at Southeastern University. Later, she rose through the ranks to become an executive at MCI Telecommunications, and would eventually become Guyana’s Attaché for the 1996 Olympics. After the Olympics she formed the International Consulting company GBTS Enterprises working with Third World Countries in the Caribbean. In October of 2001, with the help of her husband and a few volunteers, Eslene started the community based non-profit, Caring for Others, Inc. She has grown the Atlanta-based agency into a multi-million dollar enterprise with the mission of eradicating poverty and helping disadvantaged people all over the world. She is the Founder/CEO of the global enterprise.

MRBES Trailblazer Award - 2016 Community Advocate of the Year John & Sharon Bailey - Colorado Black Roundtable Colorado Black Round Table is a Statewide Black Community organization focused on and committed to Advocacy, Information and Programs for citizens and organizations in the State of Colorado. Through the leadership of former State Senators Regis Groff and Gloria Tanner, Community - Political Consultant John Bailey and the Black Community’s preeminent Scholar, Researcher and Educator, Dr. Sharon Bailey, CBRT continues to raise the hard questions about Black Community development in the Denver metro area and in Communities of Color throughout our state. Dr. Bailey’s work on The Gaining Ground in the Black Community is a must read for any of us serious about personal responsibility, community involvement and change in Colorado. Her emphasis and CBRT’s emphasis on Action, Positive Change and Healing is a formula for community engagement, individually or collectively in community organizations.

Tracy Winchester
Tracy Winchester - Five Points Business District Tracy Jenkins Winchester has been the Executive Director of the Five Points Business District since 2012. She is responsible for initiating commercial redevelopment opportunities in the Historic Five Points Welton Corridor. As of June, 2016, this neighborhood business district is experiencing over 300 million dollars in redevelopment activity. Prior to this position, Ms. Winchester was the Founder and CEO of CoLours TV. Ms. Winchester led the success of this multicultural television network by building it from a regional audience of 250,000 in the year 2000 to 17 million households nationwide in less than ten years. Ms. Winchester holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center and earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors from Boston College.
MRBES Pacesetter Award 2016 Corporation of the Year Milender White Construction Milender White is an innovator in construction, delivering outstanding projects based on proven systems and advanced technology. With offices in Colorado and southern California, they are builders of awardwinning commercial and residential projects. Milender White believes that creating a better world starts at the local level. Their employee volunteers come from all levels of the company and are active participants in the community. Milender White volunteers and contributes as a way to use our skills to strengthen our community and support those who are underserved and less fortunate. They strive to support sustainable infrastructure, provide financial support and volunteer for organizations that appreciate a helping hand. Milender White employees are personally involved with more than 20 non-profit organizations and the company hosts its own annual charitable golf tournament, supporting many children’s charities, scholarship awards, research foundations, memorial funds and minority associations.
MRBES Visionary Award 2016 Business Advocate of the Year Helena Haynes-Carter is a corporate strategist, global business, and diversity & inclusion leader. Helena has most recently led a national business center of the Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency. Throughout her career Helena has facilitated over $1 billion dollars in contract and financing transactions with small and diverse businesses. Helena Haynes-Carter
Her career consists of running her own consulting firm plus senior roles in at U.S. Bank, Xcel Energy, Standard & Poor’s Compustat Services, the Colorado Housing Finance Authority, and the Regional Transportation District. Ms. Haynes-Carter is a graduate of the University of Colorado with dual business degrees. Helena has two adult children and is an active volunteer in her church and the community.
