Reduce negative impact of heat stress in sows • Pigs do not sweat • Pigs have small lungs • Thick fat layer When exposed to heat stress: • Respiration rate increases • Loss of appetite • Increased body temperature

• Reduce sow mortality • Increase piglet weaning weight • Improve the animals general immune status

NoxiFerm provides the sow with • Antioxidants • Energy (increases production of SCFA)

If heat stress continuous: • Pigs drink excessive amounts of water (loss of electrolytes) • Accumulate acids (loss of acid/base balance) • Intestinal defence function is damaged • Increased passage of pathogens or even death

Both farms have the same Danish ownership and management. After the trial both farms has implemented NoxiFermTM in the feed.

Trial period: 1. August 2015 – 30. September 2015 Farm A with 3,223 sows: Control sow feed Farm B with 1,748 sows: C+ 0.25% NoxiFerm™ in August and September 2015
